Q. You earned an Open ticket through the International Series Macau earlier this year. How does it feel to be playing another International Series event now, especially with the pathway opportunities available?
JASON KOKRAK: Yeah, it’s great. I tried to give it a go in Hong Kong a few weeks back with a couple of the Open spots and the Masters invite on the line. But it was really fun to play well in Macau and earn that spot into The Open this year. It’ll be great to get back to Portrush and be in a major again—so yeah, it’s a lot of fun.
Q. What’s your strategy coming into this week?
JASON KOKRAK: Just play well. I took a little time off, but my game actually feels pretty good coming into this week. I’m looking forward to a good challenge, a tough test, and we’ll see where we’re at at the end of the week.
Q. What do you think of the course?
JASON KOKRAK: The course is in great shape. I know it’s a tough area to maintain perfect grass, but it’s the best condition I’ve seen it in for a while. I’m really pleased with the greens and the overall course prep. There are a few more bushes and palm trees. Nothing drastic, but overall it looks great.
