Quick Quotes

Q. Louis, a great opening round. Can you talk a little bit about it?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: Yeah, I had a little bit of a shaky start there on the 1st hole with a sand wedge and ended up making a bogey. Sort of quickly felt comfortable going around the course, rolling it nicely, greens are looking so good.

The beginning of the year, we were having difficulties with the greens here, and it's such a big improvement. I think a lot of guys on the green are going to feel like they can make a lot of putts. Just played solid today.

Q. It's not been windy. The conditions are pretty good?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: I teed off so early, I don't think there's wind at that time of the morning. No, it was fine. It wasn't really windy. Wind's picking up a little bit, but nothing major.

I think the biggest concern in the afternoon is the ball is going to go quite a bit further with a little bit higher altitude here. I think you're going to see some good scores this afternoon.

Q. In general, do you like this course? Does it suit you?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: Yeah, I mean, I played it a few times now. It's obviously a lot different playing it at night. I really struggled reading greens at the nighttime with the spotlights, but I felt really comfortable this week on the greens.

Q. There's been a lot of feedback on the course being much improved. Are you excited that Golf Saudi has done that?

LOUIS OOSTHUIZEN: They've done a great job. I think there's a lot of people that didn't want to come back here because the way the greens were the beginning of the season. Right now it's as good as you can get them. So very pleased with it.
