Q. What's keeping you in it?
OTHMAN ALMULLA: Just the process really. It's so cliche. Everyone says that in interviews, but it's so easy, when you're out there four or five hours, to get ahead of yourself, think about the past, think about the present, but that kind of puts you behind the eight ball because you forget about what you're trying to do right here, right now.
You sit around a golf hole and think, oh, this is a pretty hole, and you forget you have to hit a great drive, a great second shot, and a great putt. I've been working really hard on my process, stick to what works. Know I have the capability to hit good shots through my practice and through my process.
It's been awesome. I putted really nicely. I left myself in a lot of really good positions off the tee and my second shot. It was nice. I wouldn't say it was super stressful down the stretch. I hit a lot of quality shots to 15 to 20 feet. Hit some really, really good putts. Those pins are in tough positions.
Obviously Caleb is going super, super low, so maybe he's got the greens down this week. But I just want to keep doing that. Just keep enjoying it. Again, I need to remember that it's such an amazing opportunity to play in Saudi Arabia in an international competition with the best people in the world and be grateful for that opportunity.
Who knows how many more of these? Like life's not infinite, right? You've got to take the good and the bad and kind of enjoy the opportunities you get. I just want to keep doing that.
Q. It is a big event on home soil, but it's also nice being a local guy to have people come support you. Who was out there watching today?
OTHMAN ALMULLA: My dad is out there. One of my best friends who grew up with me here in Saudi, Curtis, flew from the States to come walk with us. I saw a couple of people that work at Golf Saudi. So it was awesome. Obviously, it was super early, it was 6:20 in the morning. I don't blame people for not coming out.
Hopefully a lot of the Saudi guys are out later today and they'll get some really good support. We're out later tomorrow. It's awesome. Even if people aren't here, I feel it through social media and just through the well wishes all the time wherever we are. We're really grateful. Hopefully we make you guys proud.
