ADRIAN MERONK: Very pleased with my game today. Played very solid. My putter was hot, hit a lot of good shots.
Yes, very happy with the position I'm in at the start of the tournament. Still a lot of golf to be played, but yeah, a great place to be after the first round.
Q. It is a great place to be for you. Earlier this year, you were a winner around this golf course. What is it for you about the Riyadh Golf Club?
ADRIAN MERONK: I don't know. It just seems like it suits my game. I really like it. I think I kind of know how to play this course already, and I like the greens. They roll nicely. I see the break nicely.
Yeah, I just enjoy playing here. Excited to be here again.
Q. The greens do look good. How would you assess the playing condition of the golf course right now?
ADRIAN MERONK: It's very good. It's very good. They've prepared the course very well. It's quite windy as well today, so a couple shots played tricky. So we had to make some good decisions.
Yeah, the course is playing really lovely. The greens are great. Fairways are really nice.
Q. One quick comment about Victor joining your team. How you felt about that?
ADRIAN MERONK: Yeah, I think it's a good signing. I've known Victor for a long time. Played college golf, junior golf, then Challenge and European Tour.
Yeah, he's a great player, very steady. I think that's who we need on our team. I think it's going to be a good addition to our team, and I'm looking forward to meeting him again.
