Quick Quotes

Q. Birdie on the last for a 7-under round today, bogey-free. Can you talk us through that and how you felt out there today?

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, obviously the score was good. I started off a little rough but got up and down when I needed to, and starting to feel more comfortable with my game out here.

Q. Six pars on the bounce. Was it important to keep the bogeys off the card at that point?

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah. My wife told me that if I make less bogeys than birdies my score will be good, so I followed that direction well today.

Q. Pretty good. Is there anything in particular that you're happy about with your game at the moment?

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, I'm finally starting to see some of the work show. I haven't been able to swing like I have been in practice rounds and back at home in tournament golf, but it's starting to show up and starting to feel more comfortable out here.

Q. Why do you think that is I wonder?

ANTHONY KIM: Hard work. This is the hardest I've worked since I was a little kid. I fallen back in love with the game. I feel a lot of gratitude playing this game, getting to travel. We were in Dubai last week, in Saudi now. Just looking forward to the future.

Q. I've spoken to you a couple times on International Series duty and you've been out on the road for a long time now, but your focus does seem to be -- is it fair to day your focus is getting even more dialed in?

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, it's a lot easier when you start hitting fairways and making a few putts, absolutely. Getting kicked in the teeth every week over the last two weeks playing against some of the major championship winners and some very successful players has been tough.

I think I needed to be in that fire and I'll be ready for the weekend.

Q. You're talking about the fire. Is there any muscle memory being up there at the top of the leaderboard that's going to kick in?

ANTHONY KIM: I'm not worried about where I am on the leaderboard until the last nine holes on Sunday. I know if I keep playing well I'll give myself a chance, and hopefully I'll be close.

Q. Just your thoughts on the course and the opportunities it's given you this week.

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, the course is in great shape. You have to be on the right side of the hole. That wasn't as important the last time we played because the greens weren't as fast and as firm.

But if you have some uphill putts you can make a lot of putts out here.

Q. Just your thoughts on the big prize on Sunday. It's big points and big money.

ANTHONY KIM: Yeah, I'm not too worried about that. That stuff used to matter to me. Right now I'm just working on taking one shot at a time and make good golf swings and enjoy my time here in Saudi Arabia.

Q. Back in love with the game. What is that?

ANTHONY KIM: It means that I actually want to go to the golf course. I was so excited to leave the golf course when I had -- you know, dealing with some of the mental illness and addiction issues. At this point I'm excited to be here, I feel blessed to be here, and I'm going to keep working as hard as I can.

Q. A round like that when you take it shot by shot, what does it mean specifically?

ANTHONY KIM: Means the hard work is paying off. I knew it would at some point and obviously it is only two days in, but I know that if I just keep doing what I'm doing I'll have chances on Sunday.

Q. You seem to have pretty everything dialed in, but if you could pinpoint putting, long game, short game, what is it that's really clicking?

ANTHONY KIM: Everything needs to get better. Score has been decent, but I've left quite a few out there and looking forward to cleaning that up.

Q. Very last one: When you talk about the hard work, can give us an insight? How many balls, what is that hard work?

ANTHONY KIM: It's hard enough where the club has sent me a letter to stop putting on the greens. So I'll deal with that when I get home.
