THE MODERATOR: Let's get your thoughts.
JOSELE BALLESTER: First of all, thanks for everyone having me here. It's been really insane the last hour. I've got to say this has been my first professional victory, not really knowing what comes after. We all see the pictures and stuff and the good golf, but all these cool moments, I'm really trying to enjoy them a lot.
Yeah, as you said, it's been really good golf. I'm really happy with the way I played, the way I handled myself in the pressure moments. I was fortunate to get it done this time.
Q. When you arrived here at the start of the week, did you have any idea you could be here with the trophy now?
JOSELE BALLESTER: Yeah, for sure. I come to every event believing that I can win it. My game has been pretty good over the last few months.
It's true that, when I turned professional, I was not playing my best, and I needed to talk to my team and figure out what was going on. Over the last two or three months, I found something in my swing, made a couple of adjustments that made me or put my golf game in a much better position. Now I truly believe that I can go out and win every tournament that I play.
I'm really happy to get that first victory, which sometimes it takes a little while. So the fact of getting it so early in my professional career is really cool.
Q. It looked so comfortable out there, but how are you feeling inside?
JOSELE BALLESTER: I was doing okay. As I said before, I've lived many cool moments in my amateur career that most likely have prepared me for this one. In LIV Chicago about three months ago, I was able to force a playoff and be in contention with Jon and Burmester.
So that gave me the confidence to believe I could be in that position many more times and get it done. The fact to actually get it done this time was really special.
Q. You mentioned the you made some changes to your swing. What did you change?
JOSELE BALLESTER: When you're struggling, you've got to go back to your basics, and I figured out I needed to make a couple of adjustments with my alignment. Then I just found a way on how to use my driver. I hit it really far. When I'm hitting it good off the tee, many good things happen. So I just -- over the last three months, I went from being an okay driver of the ball to a really good one.
Now when I'm standing on the tee box, I really feel confident, and I play more aggressive. So that kind of goes to my advantage. Yeah, for me, it started to hitting my driver better.
Q. Congratulations. Just wonder, when you spoke about talking to your team, did Sergio and David Puig, for example, come up with any encouragement or anything when you started out?
JOSELE BALLESTER: They obviously said to me that it takes a little time, especially coming right away from college. It is not easy. I thought that I was going to go out there and be in contention every time. I was playing well in college when I left the team and finished my career, and I said, you know, it's not going to be that hard. The first three events were horrible.
It was a big wakeup call. I knew it was going to take some time. I accepted the fact of making some changes and knowing that with all the hard work the results still could not come, but the fact that I actually see some big results and some cool moments in a brief period of time, it's first of all, really cool and also makes me realize I'm in the right direction and that I'm with the right people.
Q. Just your thoughts on being part of that team. It's quite -- it's that LIV Golf thing that's quite unique in professional golf, just having those kind of players around you as support network.
JOSELE BALLESTER: Yeah, totally. As I said, I turned professional coming from college golf, when I was surrounded by teammates and they were kind of like my family, and I feel like I went from a family to another family. The Fireballs is one of the closest teams that there is out there on LIV.
So it starts by being really competitive, first of all, but being good people and good friends, and we all are. So it's a really cool environment.
