Q. Another round of 2-under. Obviously at one point you were really flying out there. How would you assess it?
ANNA NORDQVIST: I played great today. It was blowing so hard off the back. Probably never played this course this windy, and it was a different wind. It was hard sometimes holding wedges on the greens and getting them close. Sometimes you start with a really long putt.
I feel like I managed my game very well. Yeah, I made a double on my 17th hole. Thought I hit a really good shot, just the wind took it a little bit. It's hard to stay in it for 18 holes out there. Every shot you're either flying a 30, 35 mile an hour side wind out there.
I'm happy with my game. It was a solid start. I didn't feel like it was that easy out there today.
Q. Obviously it was windy in the two days building up to this tournament, and you're saying the winds sort of shifted today and it played differently again?
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, my clubs didn't show up until late Tuesday afternoon. So I got to play the back nine in the Pro-Am yesterday. Yeah, it definitely was a big difference. Today I hit a 60-degree wedge to 15 and it could barely hold the green. Yesterday I had a 5-iron basically to the same pin. So it was playing quite hard.
Just proud. I mean, I've had five weeks off, and you go out here haven't having played for a while and it's blowing this hard. It definitely wasn't easy, but I'm happy.
Q. When it's playing like this and you have to think a lot, it does reward the better player and the better thinker out on the course. In some ways, that's good for the better players out here. It rewards them in some ways.
ANNA NORDQVIST: Yeah, you've got to think your way around here. There's a lot of pins you can't even get to today, especially with the wind. It's hard off the last, the pins on maybe four or five of the last. You've just got to play away from those.
You've got to hit quality shots and make shots that are really hard to commit to, hit a lot of long clubs in short yardage sometimes.
It helps knowing where your ball's going, but it's definitely a struggle out there.
