Q. Hazel, well done on finishing your first LET tournament. How did you find the weekend here in Saudi?
HAZEL MACGARVIE: I found it good. Yesterday I was going well until the kind of last five, six holes, made a few bogeys, dropped a few shots. Still overall happy with the round.
Then again today, I just thought we'll just go out, have fun, and we'll see what happens. All you can do is try and climb the leaderboard a little bit. Yeah, I managed to get an eagle on 9, a couple of birdies here and there, and then birdied the 18th here as well and managed to get to 3-under.
It's been a good weekend. Overall I'm pretty happy with my result even though the first round, give or take, it should have been a lot better. But overall pretty happy.
Q. Talk me through the eagle on 9 today.
HAZEL MACGARVIE: First couple days I wasn't striking it very well. I was kind of playing a bit conservative, just thought I'll lay it up short, and if you get birdie, you get birdie. If not, walk off for par, and that's fine.
Last couple days I was hitting it a bit better. I was hitting my irons quite good the first eight holes. I thought I'll go a little bit left because you can use a slope to bring it around a little bit because the pin was tucked right. I thought we'll try and go front left of the green and take the long putt from there. I managed to hit a really good shot, slightly further right than I was actually planning on, but it paid off quite well. I managed to hit the slope and it run down to about 12, 14 foot, and I managed to hole a putt for eagle. So dropped down at the very last second, mind you, still we'll keep that quiet.
Q. In terms of your whole week here in Saudi, as you said, it's your first tournament. Surely the first day could have gone a bit better, but you were up against very difficult conditions. How have you found the week and the atmosphere here?
HAZEL MACGARVIE: It's been great. The first day could have been better, to be honest. The conditions were quite tough. It's been pretty windy most days, to be honest. Especially picking up round the turn for me with the tee times I've had.
You just kind of got to take your chances. The whole atmosphere has been great. It's different for me having hospitality stands and people watching. Every single day walking down the 18th I was shaking like a leaf. Managed to control it slightly better today, and I managed to make birdie, which I'm quite happy with.
Hopefully, that whole shaking will calm down and stop soon once I get used to that. No, it's been good. I've really enjoyed it.
Q. What do you plan to do in your week at home?
HAZEL MACGARVIE: My week at home. I plan to go see my wee dog, take him for a few walks and just practice and get ready for South Africa. Yeah, just take it from there and see what happens again in a couple weeks time.
