Q. You've been playing so well this year, the win was coming, wasn't it?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, I mean, I've been working extremely hard on my game. I felt like it was a matter of time but just wanted to play golf and put myself in contention in the final rounds and learn from the losses that I had and what I needed to work on, and kind of brought that into today.
Q. Talk me through today.
LEXI THOMPSON: I came into today just the way I played yesterday, just aggressive golf, and kind of fiery. I hit a great shot on No. 1 to like six, seven feet and made it and I wanted to play fearless golf and not play away from pins by any means and commit to my shots. I hit some really good ones and I hit some iffy ones but with this wind and everything, you have to take the bad ones as best you can.
Turned it on on the back and really made the putts when I needed to.
Q. You have played in a couple of these ATS events, nice to get a win and join the likes of Nelly and your other contemporaries?
LEXI THOMPSON: Yeah, absolutely. Aramco Team Series is an amazing experience and to have the team aspect, golf is an individual sport and we don't get to play as a team and with an amateur at that. I got to place with Brice Butler. We had a good time the last two days. I think what Aramco and Saudi Golf does for golf and women's golf especially is growing and very honored to be here.
Q. You must take a lot of confidence from today?
LEXI THOMPSON: Definitely a lot of confidence. Knowing me, I want position, so I have about 2 1/2, three weeks off and I'm going to be working my butt off to keep on improving and hopefully finish strong in my last few events of the year.
