Q. Jon, started with a three-putt bogey, but you hit 16 greens today, hit a lot of good shots. You must be feeling pretty good about your game right now.
JON RAHM: Yeah, yeah. (Video interruption) with a little bit faster greens, and luckily I was able to bounce back, make a lengthy putt on 3 and then get the round going. Really good day today, yeah. Feel like I was in good control of the game. Didn't really short-side myself too much. A couple times I was able to fix it.
The only thing I could say is a couple more of those 10- to 15-foot putts that maybe could have gone in, but you don't always make them all, so I still had a really good day.
Q. This year you're losing shots to the field from 150 yards in, but your wedges today looked pretty dialed in. Is it something you've been working on?
JON RAHM: Yeah, it's something we always work on. Because usually I'm so good off the tee, I leave myself a higher number of wedge shots, and the difference between gaining shots and losing shots when it comes to distance from the pin is not that big.
I would say so far this year, I haven't played my best. I haven't felt as comfortable as I would like, and it's showed in my wedge game, especially last week. I hit some really bad ones. Me and Cam were joking on the second round in Hong Kong saying we were just competing to see who hits the worst wedge shot today because we hit some bad ones.
It's something to keep an eye on because if you want to contend and win and especially win majors, you need that part of your game.
Q. In weather like this, how many gloves do you go through in a round?
JON RAHM: This is actually the only one I used today. I warmed up with one, and this is a different one. I did a good job of keeping my hands dry. I kept putting the glove on the bag so it could get some air. But I'm a fairly sweaty person, but my hands today were for the most part pretty dry.
