THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Ben Campbell from New Zealand. Ben, well played today, 7-under par round of 64. Can you just talk us through your round.
BEN CAMPBELL: Yeah, I felt like I played pretty well. I got off to a good start. Made a few birdies, turned 4-under, and yeah, I felt like I swung it pretty well all day. A couple things to tidy up before tomorrow, but yeah, I did the job I needed to do today.
Q. Scores reset going into the final two rounds tomorrow. What's the game plan going into the final day?
BEN CAMPBELL: I think much how it was today. You're going to have 20 guys firing at flags. But I still think you've got to stay patient out there. It's one of those courses if you don't have your game, as long as you get through with a few pars, you can go on a few birdie runs out there.
Of course you've got to go at the flags, but at the same time, patience, as well.
Q. One spot to play for on LIV Golf's 2025 roster. What would that spot mean to you?
BEN CAMPBELL: Yeah, obviously was reserve out there this year and really enjoyed my time, so it would be great. But there's a lot of golf to happen between now and then.
Q. You were 4-under through 6, ultimately 4-under avoids the playoff. When you got to that point, how was your ability to kind of balance not playing defensive but still maintaining avoiding any kind of errors? How did you view the last 12 holes?
BEN CAMPBELL: Yeah, I just played it much the same. There was maybe two flags that I sort of steered clear of. But yeah, for me, I was just trying to hit it 10, 15 feet, putter was feeling good, and try and roll in the putts.
I hit a couple that I thought were in, as well. Swing is feeling good. I didn't sort of change the game plan too much, but there was sort of one or two flags which I didn't get too carried away with.
Q. Coming so close on the International Series, how much would it mean to finally get in this week or earn your way in this week after getting so close?
BEN CAMPBELL: Yeah, definitely. I think it would be massive. I feel like I learned a lot from last year. I got to this event last year and I played too much golf. I just had nothing left in the tank.
For me, I missed a few events -- I obviously played all the International Series but a few of the Asian Tour events I passed up because I'd been at 13 of the LIV events as well this year, so I think at one point I spent 13 weeks away from home.
Yeah, I felt like I was pretty burnt out in the middle of the year, and I think I took three or four weeks off and sort of regrouped, and it's nice now being here feeling like I'm sort of not drained going into tomorrow.
It would be massive to get over the line tomorrow, but as I said before, there's a lot of golf.
Q. You obviously got a bounce from playing well in the final round last week. How much was that like, all right, I kind of got this course maybe to a certain degree?
BEN CAMPBELL: Yeah, definitely. When we got to the course, I didn't come last year and I didn't play the Asian Tour event here, so it was my first look around last week, and it's always nice when you rock up to a course and you sort of feel like it suits your game. For me, I feel like I'm a good sort of middle iron play, and I feel like there's a lot of those around here for me, so definitely suited my eye.
