Titans 24, Colts 17
FRANK REICH: Just to start with the injuries, Shaq as you saw had the concussion. He's in the protocol. And then J.T. had the ankle. I don't know the extent of it yet. We'll see as we go there.
Tough loss. Hats off to the Titans. They came in, played a good game, well-coached, and it's hard to win a game when you lose the turnover battle the way we did and started the way we did, put ourselves behind the hole, and just not good enough. I'm proud of how we fought back, gave ourselves a chance at the end, but at the end of the day, not good enough.
We've got to put this behind us. Still feel all of our goals are out in front of us. I feel like we're seeing some things that we want to see. We just need to play better. We need to execute better. We need to stop turning the ball over, and we get to get more turnovers, and we need to run the football a little bit better and start faster.
Open it up from there.
Q. When you guys traded for Matt, you expected a veteran leader to protect the ball. Nine turnovers in four games is just not good enough, right?
FRANK REICH: Yeah, I mean, the turnovers, you have to go back and look at them one by one. I'm not going to sit here and try to point fingers at Matt or anybody else on the turnovers. Sometimes they're on the quarterback, sometimes it's a little bit more to it than that.
Everybody has to -- we look at it and we judge each one. I'm sure everybody else does the same thing.
We'll just keep working to get better at it.
Q. (On the run game.)
FRANK REICH: Yeah, the run game has got to get better. The run game has got to get better. It's just hard to know -- the way we do things, the way we scheme it, the way we block it, we've had a process in place for five years that has been very productive. We're always tweaking it and trying to get little things, but we're not getting the production as we said. So as players and coaches we've got to figure that out.
Q. You've talked about wanting to have a fast start. Is there anything more you can do? It's what happens damn near every week, so what now?
FRANK REICH: Yeah, I don't even know how to respond to that. It's a fair question. The results are what they are. I'd say it's still a relatively small sample size. I don't know if it's -- we'll fight to get better, but point taken.
Q. Did you have a conversation with Shaquille after he left the game?
FRANK REICH: Just talked to him for a second in there a minute ago. It was good to see him in there. I'm not going to -- I need to look at the tape to see how he did.
Q. What was the decision Fries over Danny?
FRANK REICH: Tough decision. We like Danny. You hate to pull a guy, especially like Danny. It's always a week to week thing. It's a week to week thing. We just felt it was more about Will and that he had earned the right to get a shot to see what he could do. He's been looking good in practice. We thought he earned an opportunity to see what he could do, and we'll take a look at the tape and evaluate it from there.
