Julian Aude

Press Conference

Saturday, July 12, 2025

Los Angeles, California, USA

LA Galaxy 2, D.C. United 1

THE MODERATOR: We'll be joined by Julian Aude. He'll answer a couple in English and answer the rest in Spanish.

Q. (Speaking in Spanish.)

THE MODERATOR: For those who don't understand, they asked who convinced him to get that haircut.

JULIAN AUDE: My girlfriend.

THE MODERATOR: Do you want to answer that question? The haircut?

JULIAN AUDE: The girlfriend.

Q. We have seen you come off the bench this year but you have been getting starts lately. What has that done for your confidence this year and what has that done for the team when you're out there?

JULIAN AUDE: I will talk in Spanish. I understand English, but I'm pretty nervous. (Speaking in Spanish.)

Q. Just in terms of the team's confidence, you guys have won three games in a row now at home, two in a row just back-to-back. You have another home game coming up on Wednesday. Do you feel like this team can start moving upward in standings?

JULIAN AUDE: (Speaking in Spanish.)

Q. (Speaking in Spanish.)

JULIAN AUDE: (Speaking in Spanish.)

Q. (Speaking in Spanish.)

JULIAN AUDE: (Speaking in Spanish.)

Q. (Speaking in Spanish.)

JULIAN AUDE: (Speaking in Spanish.)

THE MODERATOR: We're going to try to do one question in English with Scott. We'll see how it goes.

Q. Last year you dealt with some injuries, kind of put you out. John Nelson kind of stepped in and took over that role. As the season began, John was still the number one on the left and we've seen you, as Josh referred to, come on and get a lot more playing time lately.

What I'm wondering is in what ways did you find you needed to broaden your game and how did you do so? How did you become more than what you were?

JULIAN AUDE: (Speaking in Spanish.)

THE MODERATOR: You'll translate on your own because I can't translate Argentinian Spanish, Scott. Can you try in English? Maybe Josh's first question in English. Try it.

Q. You have been playing a lot. You have been coming off the bench. You are playing more now. What has that done for your confidence?

THE MODERATOR: You got this.

JULIAN AUDE: The confidence is every day, playing or no playing. If I play, I need to show my confidence. When I didn't play, that's the work and the player I think. If I don't play, you can give up, but I try to with my confidence day, to work every day for the team. And now playing for that, I try to show my confidence in every play with my things, with my... but I think it's that.

THE MODERATOR: Perfect. That was great! Let's simplify your question.

Q. How did you broaden your game --

THE MODERATOR: Broaden is -- no, fix that one.

Q. To make it more. To become a better player, a more complete player. What were the things you needed to do and how did you go about that?

JULIAN AUDE: My thing now to grow is to be complete in defense in attack. I try to be more strong in defense now. I know often I can do whatever I want, but now I'm more focused on my defense. I try more that and in offense I do that I like. I feel more happy when I can do in defense.

THE MODERATOR: Great, that's awesome, Julian. Round of applause. Walk off press conference home run there. That concluded our press conference.
