Wizards 132, Hornets 116
Q. Big night for the bench. What was working well for you guys?
DELON WRIGHT: We just had a lot of energy on the ball, got some stops. Yeah, that was the main thing, getting stops and being able to -- we had Corey and Landry out there shooting it, got a little BC, we all played well together, Kuz with us sometimes. I think we did a good job of having ball movement and trusting each other.
Q. What did you make of the three-point defense?
DELON WRIGHT: Ours? I don't even know how to answer -- I don't know the details.
Q. I think they were 6 for 20.
DELON WRIGHT: I mean, good, because I feel like LaMelo, he stayed in the pick-and-roll a lot, so he was looking to attack. Wasn't too many passes off of him, so I guess we did a good job of that, kind of letting him score and kind of fanning out.
Q. Having a bunch of vets on the bench with you guys, does that help having kind of a bunch of guys who have been around the league who have played big minutes for other teams?
DELON WRIGHT: For sure, yeah. We have a lot of -- we try to work in some of the young guys, but also we do have a lot of vets on this team. Losing by 20 those past five games is unacceptable. That's not a good feeling. The vets, we have to do a better job of just bringing everybody together and making sure everybody is on the same page.
Q. You guys kind of fell into the third quarter slower start this time, but what was the difference this time?
DELON WRIGHT: Yeah, back to the first half, we stayed in the same recipe we had in the first half, moving the ball, getting stops, getting steals, blocks, whatever it took to win we pretty much did. Yeah, we've been having slow starts in the third, but it's all a learning curve.
Q. First in-season tournament game at home on Friday; what are you expecting from the crowd at capital arena?
DELON WRIGHT: Hopefully it's a good crowd. Going to play Charlotte again, so hopefully they come out and support and give us much-needed energy because we definitely need the crowd to be there and need them there to support.
