Raptors 111, Wizards 107
Q. They had an 11-0 run in the third that got them back into the game. What did they do to change that game in the second half?
WES UNSELD JR.: Yeah, we knew they were going to amp up their pressure a little bit and their level of physicality. It bottled us up a bit, forced us -- extended our catches. We still got a lot of great looks at the rim. I think we were 4 for 12 in that fourth in the paint and just couldn't convert. We were still getting decent looks. Of course they just didn't go for us.
Q. You talked about the fourth. You went the last seven minutes and 25 seconds of the game without a field goal. Was it a reflection of the offense just not being able to get things going? Was it their defense?
WES UNSELD JR.: It was a little bit of both. I think their defensive pressure. Like I said, we were able to get rim attempts. You can't really buy a better shot than that. We have to find a way to convert some of those. We had a handful of turnovers.
But a combination of those three, really.
Q. Was Gafford available down the stretch?
WES UNSELD JR.: Yes, he was available. Would have helped probably a little on the glass a little bit protecting the rim but added another play maker. I wanted to have another ball handler versus their pressure.
Obviously it didn't work, but that was the thought process.
Q. Without Delon in the lineup, it seems like you've had Deni as that ball handler with the second unit. What does he bring as a creator with that unit?
WES UNSELD JR.: He's got a good feel. He's a good passer, does pick-and-rolls well. I think he reads the defense pretty well. Obviously positional size defensively.
I think he's shown more than capable of being a primary facilitator for us.
Q. What happened to Kyle on that out-of-bounds play after the Siakam basket and how costly was that?
WES UNSELD JR.: Yeah, I think he stepped out. There were two looks on that one, and the first one was not open. JP was open at the top, and I think we didn't see him, so he threw it to Kyle, and he was kind of tight to the sideline, so he stepped out.
