Magic 139, Wizards 120
Q. Where did this one get away from you guys?
WES UNSELD JR.: Toward the end of the third quarter, beginning of the fourth. They had a run there. At half, we were down 10, so still within striking distance. They got going from the three, obviously in the second half. But there was a stretch like with a minute left in that third, first two, three minutes of the fourth.
Q. What enabled them to shoot so well and from decent volume from three tonight?
WES UNSELD JR.: Well, give them credit, they've been playing at a high level. We tried to amp up the pressure a little bit, which opened up some threes, but they move the ball. They're set and ready. We just have to get there with a little bit more urgency.
Q. What were you happy with from your team tonight, and what were you displeased by?
WES UNSELD JR.: Well, I didn't think we had a strong defensive presence. There were some stretches, but just not enough, not enough consistency there. We talked about the paint being an issue. We did a much better job on the glass, so that's certainly a positive. But I think from the start, a little slow, picked it up early, and that late stretch in the third, end of the third and start of the fourth, it really caused a lot of damage.
Q. Johnny Davis gets in the game the first half and doesn't get in the game until the second half until the game is out of reach. What does he have to do to get in the rotation earlier in the second half?
WES UNSELD JR.: It's nothing really with Johnny. Landry comes in, the Landry/Corey combination has been really good for us, and they play a stretch which is usually pretty positive. It kind of eats into his opportunity, but I think he's gone out and done a pretty good job in what limited minutes. It's nothing necessarily on him, it's just more of the guys have come in and helped us quite a bit.
Q. Any word on how Deni's right elbow is?
WES UNSELD JR.: Haven't heard yet. It didn't sound like it was anything significant. He was ready to go back, but at that point the game was out of reach, and I didn't want to bring him, Ty, even Jordan, I didn't want to bring them back at that point.
