Wizards 137, Pacers 123
Q. Last game I know you had strong messages for the team. Was that part of the difference of tonight's game?
KYLE KUZMA: I wouldn't say what I said was a part of it, but I think we did compete better, particularly on the defensive end. We just have to do it again.
Q. What did you think of the night Jordan had?
KYLE KUZMA: I think he played well. I think he played within himself, how he's always played all season, honestly. I think he just made shots tonight, and it propelled us.
Q. How nice was it just to get a win?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, great. Plane ride is going to be better. My glass of wine tonight is going to be a little better. It's always better when you win.
Q. How would you describe the offense tonight for you guys?
KYLE KUZMA: We made shots. I mean, it's clear as day, Tyus had a triple-double, so somebody has a triple-double, it usually means people are making shots. JP had eight assists. I think I had four or five. Deni probably had five or six. But that just shows you the ball was popping to everybody, touched it, and had opportunities to score. Corey had about 18, BC 17. It was a balanced attack.
Q. You mentioned Tyus's triple-double. Can you talk more about the overall impact he had on this game?
KYLE KUZMA: He had a great impact. I think more impressive than the triple-double was defensively what he did tonight. We had a great focus, attention to detail on Haliburton tonight trying to force him left all over the floor, and we did a great job of executing that, and he was the catalyst for it.
Q. You guys won the board battle tonight. You mentioned competing better. How important is your effort when it comes to winning the rebound battle?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, it was huge. We haven't really won too many rebound battles this year. That also tells you that we made them miss, to have rebounds.
I think tonight definitely our defense was much, much better, and that contributed to rebounding. You still have to close possessions off by rebounding, but we did a good job, and it propelled our fast break.
Q. Bilal had another poster dunk tonight. Is that something you expect from him? He's been attacking the rim with a lot of ferocity tonight?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, I hope so. He's 19, so he's got to run. He's very athletic. Yeah, he's supposed to do that. He's supposed to.
Q. You dropped 31, Jordan had 30. How unstoppable is that duo when you both perform like that?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, we made shots tonight. I don't know how unstoppable it is. We've got four wins, so I wouldn't go that far, truly.
Q. How do you size up this road trip?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, we've got a good opportunity. We're playing the Phoenix team, get to see my old friends Frank Vogel and Cole, but it's going to be a tough one with them, Sac, Golden State, it's always tough to win in the bay, and then Portland has been playing well as of recently, a little bit better, getting assignments back. Scoot has been playing well. We've got our hands full. We've got some winnable games, but we've got some challenging games, too.
Q. Speaking of seeing Frank and reuniting with some of those guys, those games always seem to be high emotion for one player or another, so what do you expect from that?
KYLE KUZMA: I mean, it's going to be really fun. Obviously that coaching staff, especially with me winning a championship with those guys and Frank, we're all family. Obviously coming back to play Brad, that's going to be really fun, too. I know he's going to be really amped to play us because we haven't played all year, and he's playing his team of 10, 12 years, so should be fun.
