Timberwolves 118, Wizards 107
Q. Three games out of four now in D.C. you dropped a double-double. What's clicking for you?
MARVIN BAGLEY III: I'm just playing hard. I'm just trying to bring energy whenever I'm on the floor, trying to be aggressive, just do what I do. Now we've just got to put it all together to try to finish our games and get a win.
Q. What kind of unique challenges are posed by lineups where there are two bigs like Gobert and Towns? How does that pose a challenge to you as a center?
MARVIN BAGLEY III: Those two big lineups are definitely tough to guard, especially if you've got a guy like KAT that can shoot the three, be aggressive, create other things for his teammates. On the other end you've got a defensive guy like Rudy that's down there, altering shots, just mucking it up a little bit. Yeah, it's a challenge, but I think we did a pretty good job for the most part tonight on defense. Just got to finish out games. We'll put it together.
Q. You said it's tough to guard them. I know you've been asked this before, but in light of the fact you just played against a two-big lineup, would you like to share the court with Gafford more and try to give teams that headache of having to guard two bigs?
MARVIN BAGLEY III: Yeah, absolutely. That's something that the coaching staff is -- they have to talk about that. But I'm ready for whatever. I just try to compete every time I'm out there on the floor, my number is called, and being ready whenever. So whatever they throw out there, just try to adjust to it. I would love to be in a lineup like that, but at the end of the day, it's basketball at the end of the day, so whenever my number is called, I'll be ready.
Q. This team has struggled at times to bring a nice level of physicality. What was the priority from that kind of standpoint tonight?
MARVIN BAGLEY III: Just trying to put a body on those guys. Just trying to keep Rudy off of the rebounds, KAT off the boards. Just try to be physical. Like I said, we did a good job. We just turned the ball over a lot. That was how they were most scoring.
I think if we would have just took care of the ball, obviously did all the small things, we would have came out with the win. But like I said, the beauty of this thing is we've got another one tomorrow. So learn from it, just continue to keep learning and growing and moving on.
Q. How tough is it to keep separated the idea of, yeah, you're losing games, but at the same time this team all year long has been trying to build something?
MARVIN BAGLEY III: It's tough. It's tough. I don't think anybody goes out there saying they want to lose and want to lose. We go out there to compete to win. Since I've been here, we've been in these games, and I don't really know about before, but since I've been playing, we've been in games, we've been playing hard, competing at a high level, and when you come up short from those games, it's definitely frustrating a little bit.
But like I said, I'm trying to learn on the fly, figure out things, figure out how they want to do things that are different from Detroit, and like I said, it's all a learning process, and I'm just going to keep stacking days and keep moving forward.
