Suns 140, Wizards 112

Q. What allowed them to take control early in this game?

BRIAN KEEFE: I think we've made some progress here lately, but we took a little bit of a step back today, and that starts with me. We're about shared accountability, and we didn't have the right mindset, and I've got to take first blame on that one myself for getting ready to play. That's a collective thing that we're going to work on, and we've got a couple days to look at this and come back ready to play on Wednesday.

Q. What was the common thread with the turnovers?

BRIAN KEEFE: We just were playing in crowds, making silly mistakes, but our spacing wasn't great.

But it was our defense. We didn't play with enough force tonight. We let them walk into too many things easy. This is a great scoring team, but we didn't make them earn it as much as they should.

Q. Johnny Davis got some good rotational minutes in there, especially in the first half. Seems like maybe you're putting a little bit more faith into him. Do you feel as though he's making good on that faith with his output?

BRIAN KEEFE: Yeah, Johnny has shown -- I talked about it before the game, the Go-Go has been a great preparation for even Eugene tonight, being ready to play. When Johnny's number has been called, he's been great. I thought he finished the game well. We ended up with those guys, finished the game, did a good job, ended up winning the last quarter, and some of those guys played last night in a G-League game which they won, so that's a big thing for our organization.

Q. Bilal started the game but wasn't able to score. How much of that do you think was maybe due to his back problem, or was it just something else that happened?

BRIAN KEEFE: I can't speak to the injury part of it. He couldn't find a rhythm in the game, but he wasn't the only one who had a tougher game tonight. There was many of us. We have to all collectively own that, and we've got to be better.

Q. Omoruyi seems to take advantage of just about every opportunity he's given. What can he do to earn regular rotation minutes?

BRIAN KEEFE: I think every time his number is called, he produces. Tonight was another one of those things. We needed some help from size obviously with some of the injuries, and he came in, stepped in, and Gene has been doing that all year. We expect nothing different from him. But he always shows his level of preparation and the job that our Go-Go staff does, too. It was a nice job by Gene to be ready to play.

Q. What was working for Deni, tying his season high in scoring tonight?

BRIAN KEEFE: Deni when he plays downhill is a good player. When he attacks, gets out in transition, he's a force in transition. That's how we want him to continue to play, get downhill.
