Cavaliers 135, Wizards 116
Q. Talk about your thoughts after this game.
KYLE KUZMA: We're in a development stage, but we're not translating right now necessarily what we want to get to. You see a lot of the possessions, we had a lot of unders letting them get a lot of threes. Didn't have a lot of low-man situations. They had a lot of dunks, pick-and-roll dunks. Yeah, so that's just the challenge right now, like trying to translate what the coaches want for us to do as a group and do it on the floor.
Q. Do you think it's an effort thing? Is it a focus thing? Is it a youth thing?
KYLE KUZMA: Most definitely a youth and focus thing. When you haven't been in situations and you don't know, you don't know. If you're haven't got reps at playing Donovan Mitchell and Jarrett Allen to understand what they're trying to get to, then you'll just be on the guess a lot, and I think that's just where we are.
But that's the situation that we have, and that's the cards we have, and we just have to keep building and figure it out.
Q. Bilal had a career high. What did you think of him tonight?
KYLE KUZMA: He's confident, been confident. He's in a much different role now. We're putting the ball in his hands a lot, having him make plays and letting him develop. That's how it's going right now.
Q. How much more skill does he have more compared to 12 months ago?
KYLE KUZMA: More patience, just more patience. Shooting the ball a little bit more comfortable. You see he shocked down a couple of open threes, got his feet straight, set up the shot. He's going to continue to improve.
Q. Are you still adjusting to the offense and trying to find your spots?
KYLE KUZMA: Yeah, I'm still trying to find my spots. I'm playing poopy right now but definitely trying to figure out my spots. Just being in a different role, we're developing a lot of guys, a lot of guys are handling the ball more. Just trying to figure out my way, with the coaches ask, trying to rebound more. I felt good today. I think the past two weeks I haven't been feeling too good about myself, but today I felt good. I thought I played well. I missed lay-ups, but that's easy to fix.
Q. Is that just a mentality on the court?
KYLE KUZMA: I've got a lot of s--- off the court right now, honestly. I'm going through it. But I felt good today. I felt in a good place. Just got to make a lay-up.
