Bilal Coulibaly

Media Conference

Wizards 123, Hornets 114

BILAL COULIBALY: I told him it was a bad pass, but that's what makes it better, so I'll take it.

Q. What do you think, take us through the play, your arm coming back, you come down, you're screaming, you're chest bumping.

BILAL COULIBALY: Yeah, I knew he was about to throw the lob because we were just talking about it last game, so I was confident in it, but I didn't think it was about to be that high, but yeah, it was a great play. Got hyped a little bit after.

Q. You were talking about him throw a lob to you you said earlier in the game?

BILAL COULIBALY: We were talking about it last game because there were plays we saw it, it was like, oh, I should have thrown it. I'm like, next game we got one, and it happened.

Q. You've had some crazy dunks in your career, but have you gotten up like that before do you think?

BILAL COULIBALY: No, definitely have not. That was the first one.

Q. That's the highest you've ever gone?

BILAL COULIBALY: Yeah, for sure.

Q. How does it feel to get the win, break the losing streak, have a night like this in front of the crowd?

BILAL COULIBALY: It feels really good. The crowd was really active today out there, so yeah, it just helped us.

Q. It seemed like you were really hyped out there. What was that like running out on the court and celebrating with your teammates?

BILAL COULIBALY: Yeah, that was funny because we were talking about it last game, so it was crazy, and yeah, teammates were cheering for me after, so that was crazy.

Q. Did you see Alex's reaction?

BILAL COULIBALY: I did, I did on the video.

Q. How much did it help getting Kyshawn back and especially Corey and Malcolm who played really well tonight?

BILAL COULIBALY: Oh, it helps a lot. Like you say. They did a great job today, offensively, defensively. It helped us to get a little bit more rest, too, to be more at the center of the court, so it helped a lot.

Q. LaMelo put up over 30 points, but it was really inefficient for him. What do you think you did to make it so difficult for him?

BILAL COULIBALY: Just tried to screen and everything. They were setting good screens, too, so it was tough for me, too, but yeah, just doing my thing.

Q. The threes and assist numbers were really high for you guys tonight. How would you describe how the offense was flowing?

BILAL COULIBALY: That's exactly what we were talking about the last two days at practice. Coach was like, we've got to get more threes up and we've got to pass the ball more, and that's what we did, so yeah, we worked on that.

Q. You talked about the screens and having that be a reason to limit LaMelo. Obviously it's a lot about KYP, know your personnel, but in general do you like to go over the screen every time, or how does it work when you try to figure out who you're guarding?

BILAL COULIBALY: Yeah, I can say it's about KYP. I watch a lot of film. I like to go over it. That's why I take always the best players, just to get it screened and everything, and the coaches know it, too. They know I can get around easily.

Q. How nice is it to have Brogdon's ability to get in the paint instead of settling for outside shots?

BILAL COULIBALY: Oh, it feels really good. You get wide-open looks. Just got to knock it down. But he's been doing a great job on that.
