Wizards 113, Hornets 110
Q. Can you take us through that play where Alex had the tip-in before Jordan's three? What did you see during that play?
BILAL COULIBALY: Yeah, I really saw the ball, and I can't remember which Charlotte player -- it was Jordan?
Q. On the previous play, yeah.
BILAL COULIBALY: On the same play, I jumped right before another player. I was like, I've got to get that ball. We were going just like that. That's what we did. Yeah, we need those plays.
Q. Can you describe what you saw on Jordan's three to win it?
BILAL COULIBALY: Oh, my God, yeah, that was crazy. I was thinking about getting the rebound, but I saw the ball in the air, and I was like, oh, it's going in for sure. So yeah, that step-back was crazy.
Q. What was working in those last couple of minutes because the team was up by 21, then there was a four-minute stretch in the fourth quarter where you couldn't score and then the last three minutes were really solid. What was going right at the end?
BILAL COULIBALY: We were just doing the right things, offensively, defensively. We were locked in, doing what Coach wanted us to do. Yeah, that's how we got the win.
Q. What does it say about the team that you guys had such a poor shooting night but you were still able to pull out this game because of great defensive plays?
BILAL COULIBALY: That's exactly what we were talking about this morning. Even the last game, we didn't play well, we lost a lot of balls, we didn't get enough rebounds; we were not supposed to win for real, but fighting, that's how we won the last game. So we were like, if we've got to do it today, too, we're going to do it, and that's what we did.
Q. What did you get from the crowd tonight?
BILAL COULIBALY: Oh, that was really nice. It helped us so much. I don't even know. At some point it was like -- I think we were up one and they were yelling, like, "defense, defense," and I could hear it for real, so I was like, we are six on the floor right now.
Q. What's it like in a game like that where it's so ugly, everyone is diving on the floor, it's loose balls? Coach was saying that's high-level basketball. What does it feel like to be a part of that moment and get that experience?
BILAL COULIBALY: That's nice. That's what we need for real. That's how you win games. The best teams, they're always hustling everything, getting on the ground. That's what we were missing earlier this year, and that's what we're doing right now, so that's how we get the wins.
