Timberwolves 120, Wizards 106
Q. How do you think you guys responded after the way things went last night? Keefe said he was pretty pleased with how you guys played.
JORDAN POOLE: Yeah, we fought hard, executed a little bit better, offensively, defensively, played together as a team. Just thought it was more competitive overall.
Q. What do you think made the difference for them?
JORDAN POOLE: For?
Q. For the Timberwolves.
JORDAN POOLE: Edwards got going at the end of the game. They were making a lot of shots. They were getting to the line way more than we were. I don't know if that's really something that we can control. But that's a physical team, and they made some shots down the stretch.
Q. When Brian and you and your teammates are not happy with how you guys played, how does Brian get you guys back on an even keel and help you guys get the best out of yourselves?
JORDAN POOLE: He just continues to coach us hard. He continues to find ways to get better at the things that we're struggling at, whatever that is at the time, in the moment. Credit to the coaching staff, credit to the guys for just finding ways to continue to get better. Long season, and we're young, so we're still learning. Every game is not going to be perfect, so whenever we have good games and we've got good energy, we've got to find ways to build off of that.
Q. How impressed are you with the way Alex is shooting the three ball considering how tall he is, and I guess you'd think he's got a lot of moving parts because he's got long arms and stuff.
JORDAN POOLE: I saw how good of shot mechanics he had when he worked out with him this summer, and that's really all you need to start to be a good shooter. He can really space the floor. He's got good touch.
But it just is a matter of time before all our rookies get extremely comfortable with the three-point line. I think Alex is in a good position right now, it's good for him to space the floor because whenever we get into ball screens they double me where they send two, and he can play in the pocket, he can pop for threes. I just like how confident he's playing with it, continuing to shoot the open ones. It won't be long before they start making them at a high clip, so really excited just to see how he's been playing, how he's been working, continuing to find ways to tighten up his mechanics and his shot. Just got to try to keep putting him in positions to keep knocking those down.
