Media Conference

Heat 106, Wizards 90

Q. 36.9 percent from the field, I think 28 percent in the first half. What happened that limited you guys' offense?

BRIAN KEEFE: Sorry, I didn't hear that. Would you repeat?

Q. Tough offensive night for you guys. What went wrong on that end?

BRIAN KEEFE: We just didn't have that zipness, sharpness to our game tonight. We missed some easy lay-ups early that I thought would have helped us. Give a little bit credit to their physicality, but we weren't just weren't sharp on either end. Our defense wasn't as physical. We weren't disrupting. We weren't in the passing lanes like we've been, and that showed tonight.

Q. Alex seemed aggressive on his drives early but couldn't get the shots inside to fall. What did you see from his attempts inside the paint?

BRIAN KEEFE: I liked his aggressiveness early. His attack on the rim trying to get there, made a couple, but missed in and out lay-ups and I think we missed a ton of those little chippy shots in the paint that would have helped us, but sometimes that's how it goes.

But our connectivity and our focus wasn't as high as it has been. We tried to make a push there in the third quarter, and I think we had a corner three that would have cut to five, but we just didn't sustain the energy for the whole game like we have been.

Q. Any update on Kyshawn?

BRIAN KEEFE: Yeah, just got hit in the jaw. We're just seeing how he's doing right now.

Q. When you look at the way that you guys, as you mentioned, the zip that were looking for, can you put your finger on what caused you guys to not have it to tonight or was it just, unfortunately, one of those nights?

BRIAN KEEFE: I don't think we set the tone defensively. That's what we've been really doing, is we've been setting the tone defensively, being the aggressors in the game. I don't think we ever quite got there. I think we got there a little bit in the third quarter, and we just couldn't -- we were trying to battle, and I thought the guys really tried to make a concerted effort after the first half. You know, like I said, we did cut that lead, but we just couldn't find the energy to sustain it. We've got to be better.

Q. How much did them going to the zone affect you guys in what you were trying to do and what you've been able to do with your ball movement and your off-ball movement and cutting the way you guys have done as of late?

BRIAN KEEFE: I thought we actually were okay. We didn't make any shots in anything we were doing tonight, but when we played with pace and when we moved it quickly, we actually had good angles to attack, but we didn't seem to have the right energy levels to keep doing the harder things tonight, and you've got to keep moving it, keep sharing it. We've been doing those things really well. I thought we were well positioned in our zone, but sometimes we didn't attack the gaps like we wanted to, and when we did, we probably had some turnovers against it. But I thought we were in the right positions.

Q. Bub seemed a bit frustrated at times with some of the non-calls he was getting. What are you seeing from him as he tries to attack inside a little bit more and how he's managing some of the frustration of not getting some of those whistles?

BRIAN KEEFE: I thought he was fine. Frustration is going to happen in every game, every player, every team. It's how you move on to the next play. I thought Bub actually was one of the ones who had some nice energy tonight to help push us and make this a more competitive game.
