Trail Blazers 102, Wizards 97
Q. What do you think overall tonight of your guys?
BRIAN KEEFE: Good in stretches. Obviously we're expanding the guys we're playing out there. I thought we actually finished the game really well. We ended up winning the last quarter. (Indiscernible) at the start of the fourth. The guys responded well.
Could have been better, for sure.
Q. Why did you play Khris Middleton and Jordan obviously 10 minutes...
BRIAN KEEFE: It's been a long trip. Khris is obviously coming off what he's coming off. It's been a long trip. Like I said before the game, we're going to explore and see our roster, learn about our roster.
We want to see our guys that have been in the G League. They deserve those minutes, too. We're going to get looks at these guys, different combinations, learn who plays well together. That's what we had going on tonight.
Q. Do you anticipate more nights like this from here on in and out?
BRIAN KEEFE: I think we go game to game on this. Yeah, I definitely would expect us to explore different combination lineups. Still want to learn a lot about our guys that have been gown with Go-Go or not getting as much minutes, for sure.
Q. You talk about guys responding in the first quarter. When you have that type of response and that quick reaction from the guys after a timeout, what does that say about what they've been doing?
BRIAN KEEFE: We talked about that in the timeout. This is the expectation, this is how we play. We got a little bit out of character, which can happen at any time during the game. And the guys responded. That is what we want. They made them call a timeout pretty quickly. We finished on the right foot during the game.
Q. What went into the decision playing Tristan over Richaun?
BRIAN KEEFE: We wanted to see Tristan. Tristan is one of our guys. Obviously he's been with the Go-Go here a little bit lately. Obviously we know what Richaun can do. We want to see a little bit more of Tristan at this point. We're going to see him a little bit more down the stretch.
Q. You mentioned the guys with the Go-Go, getting them some minutes here, having a road trip similar as time zones as the Go-Go? How helpful and beneficial has that been?
BRIAN KEEFE: Those guys, we got to see them play in Toronto and Detroit, which is very unique. All of our staff was able to go and watch those guys. We're like one staff as I've said a million times.
Those guys are prepared, they know what we're doing. When they step into the roles here, may be against a different level of talent, but they can execute what we're doing. That stuff is really helpful.
Q. Alex just 22 minutes. Did he tweak anything?
BRIAN KEEFE: That's just how the rotations turned out, yeah.
Q. It was tough to kind of see the court after the game with everyone standing up. Did you get a chance to dap up Denny after the game?
BRIAN KEEFE: Denny was tying his shoe at one point in the game. Kind of gave me a hit on the leg. I didn't get a chance to talk with him. Maybe I will catch up with him after.
Q. (Question about rotation trying to get more players involved.)
BRIAN KEEFE: Yeah, I was just trying to get everybody some time tonight after a long trip. I also wanted to see more of the guys, learn more about them.
Q. Who did you get a look at?
BRIAN KEEFE: I thought Jaylen Martin came in, Colby Jones came in, played hard, gave us some minutes. AJ is improving. I can see his ability, some of the flashes, things he can do. AG obviously terrific. Every time he gets out there, brings a force and energy. Tristan was good, too.
I thought all those guys that came up tonight played well.
