Washington, DC, USA

Coach Brian Keefe

Media Conference

Hawks 119, Wizards 98

Q. How much of this game, at least the tone for the rest of it, was set in the first two, three minutes?

BRIAN KEEFE: The turnovers were not great for sure. The turnovers, offensive rebounds were the story of the game. They just got many more attempts, shot attempts. We lost the possession game. The reality is they didn't shoot the ball well from the field, but they had so many more attempts, and that started from right at the beginning.

Q. They've got a couple hellacious defenders, Atlanta perimeter defenders. Was it what they did or was it what your guys did to --

BRIAN KEEFE: Give them some credit. A combination of both. They came out and were aggressive, but we played in crowds, also. We also contributed to it.

Q. What did it mean to you to see Trae as appreciated and overwhelmed as he was by the reception here?

BRIAN KEEFE: No, it was nice to see. I'm glad they really honored him. Obviously he had an unbelievable career here with this organization, and I know he meant a lot to this city and to their fans. I was really happy for him. He invested a lot of time here. Really thrilled that he's with us now. It was a nice moment for him. I'm glad they showed their appreciation. That was nice.

Q. I know unfortunately a losing effort, but what did you see from Will this evening that you liked, especially last couple games it's been a little up and down for him, but it seemed like he's righting the ship?

BRIAN KEEFE: Just a continuation of what he's been building on. I'm actually really pleased with how he's improved defensively. We obviously can see the scoring and the play making, but I thought he gave us a nice boost when he was in the game tonight for sure.
