Bryce Young

Postgame Press Conference

Panthers 31, Bills 26

Q. (Off microphone). How did it feel today?

BRYCE YOUNG: It felt great. It felt great for all of us to go out and play against a different team in a game setting. We got a couple of different situations we got to have, which was great for us, but really it was fun being out there, fun competing, fun being out there with my team and my guys. So I thought it was great for us.

Q. The fact that you are in a situation fourth and three, I mean, practice is one thing, but you get that on the field, how did you feel? How did that feel just reassurance after, you know, a play like that?

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, it felt great. Again, getting that situation, there's practice, but just like you said, being able to have that in a game and there to be consequences to it.

I think it was great for us, for us as an offense to be put in that situation and for us to overcome it, continue the drive, and finish the way that we wanted to with that first drive.

Again, I thought it was an invaluable experience. It's something that we have to continue to build off of, carry into the future. There's good and bad stuff still to improve on, but I think it's something for us to try to build off of.

Q. Was that fourth down with the second play (indiscernible)?

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah. Again, we talk about that all the time. Playing in time clock and when it's over, starting the second play. They've talked to me about that a lot.

So just trying to listen to them. It was a great job in scramble drill for Diontae. He wasn't the only person. Everyone else is doing great job of working in those situations.

We work on that in practice. So it was good to see it come to life in a game, and again, it's something for us to build off of.

Q. (Indiscernible), especially after two incompletions?

BRYCE YOUNG: Great call. It was a good call for the coverage. I think they had a little miscommunication. So great job of him recognizing it, taking advantage of it with his route, and then it was a great call setting it up. It was good execution.

Q. You've had a lot of accomplishments, but what does it just mean to come off the field knowing you scored a touchdown, you got the job done? It's a preseason game, but what kind of lift do you think it gives this team going into two weeks and beyond?

BRYCE YOUNG: Again, I think it's something that we can build off of for sure. We're competitors. We want to win at everything, win at every drive, at every play, every game.

We take pride in it. We want to make sure we went out there and competed, and everyone, whatever group. But also, like you said, it's preseason. It's something for us to, again, improve off of, build off of, but it's not going to -- it doesn't carry over into next week. It doesn't carry over into the season.

We have to recenter, take the good, take the bad, and see what we can do moving forward. Then obviously in two weeks focus on New Orleans.

Q. The biggest difference from last year to this year with your comfortability, what's the biggest difference so far?

BRYCE YOUNG: Just having some more experience, knowing what to expect, especially at this time of the year compared to last year at this time. Having more idea of what to expect, better grasp.

Even though it's a different system, a year of seeing NFL defenses and having just more experience. Again, there's still stuff I want to keep getting better at, keep improving on. I'm going to continue to keep working, but I'm excited for us as a team, us as a group. I'm grateful to be a part of the team.

Again, I thought it was a good day, something for us to build off of, and now we have to put in the work to make it translate.

Q. What role has your faith played for you, as far as your college career and obviously your NFL career? What role does that play for you?

BRYCE YOUNG: That's been at the forefront of everything that I do on and off the field. I try to wake up every morning and just be grateful for the blessings that I've received, just for where I'm at.

I try to take that mindset on to the field as well. I definitely trust God and whatever path he has for me, and that definitely eases my mind a little bit knowing that whatever is supposed to happen will happen. I'm a big believer of that.

I still want to make sure I'm doing my part and doing everything that I can to be the best I can, but ultimately, big picture stuff, I'll leave that up to God. That's definitely something I keep with me at all times.

Q. The play after fourth down there was a bubble (indiscernible). Can you take me through that play?

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, great play design. We had two plays on for different looks and got to a play. It was a great job, great play. Adam did a great job of sitting in an area that we had practiced in reps. We have had that in practice. It was good to see it translate.

But, again, just it was scripted that way. Great job from the staff and getting us there. Adam ran a great route, so it was good execution.
