Falcons - 38, Panthers - 20
Q. Can you talk about the late interception and what went wrong there?
ANDY DALTON: Yeah, I think, if I would have let it go a little bit earlier, I probably could have had him, but he made a great play. I tried to get the ball down the field. If I could go back and do it again, I would have checked it down and kept that drive going.
That was a big drive for us, and especially with the momentum that we had at that point. That one hurt us and set us back, and it's on me. I've got to make better decisions that moment.
Q. Coach said that the way you were running the ball, it created a play action shot there for you. Was that the best shot, you think?
ANDY DALTON: Again, we're going to look at it. Like I said, I think if I would have -- I moved a little bit, and if I wouldn't have moved, if I would have just been able to throw it in rhythm, then we'd be talking about the chunk play that we got there rather than the interception.
It's on me. In those moments, especially at that point in the game, I feel like we had a ton of momentum going our way. That's why this one hurts.
Q. Despite the way the drive ended, could you just talk about the run game and how Chuba and Miles are able to have a good, I guess, synergy in the backfield.
ANDY DALTON: It's kind of been that way the whole year. The run game has set up a lot for us. Our guys up front are doing a great job of giving them lanes to run through, and those guys are running hard.
We've got to keep building on that and keep doing things. In those moments where we need to run the ball, I feel like we've been able to do that. We've got to keep it going. It's been a big positive of what we've been able to do offensively.
Q. Talk about building, can you talk about Xavier Legette too, kind of give him that high ball, and he goes up and gets it. How have you seen him progress throughout the season?
ANDY DALTON: Yeah, that's a thing that he can do. That's part of his skill set. Give him one of the things that he can go up and make a play, use his big frame, athletic ability, and go make it.
In that moment, it was a great two-minute drive of getting the ball down there and him making a big play in those moments. So I feel like there's going to be more opportunity for him.
Q. At the end of the first half, Coach is calling timeouts to get you the ball back before halftime. Was there a confidence in that moment, and does that drive kind of show what it could be?
ANDY DALTON: Yeah, for sure. I think we've been able to do some good things in two-minute drives this year. For us, it's attack mindset. We've got to find ways to keep scoring points.
We set ourselves up and put ourselves in a good position to do that on that last drive, and guys were making plays. When things are going our way and when we're playing the way we can play, it shows what we can do.
