Bryce Young

Postgame Press Conference

Dallas Cowboys 30, Carolina Panthers 14

Q. You had a couple fumbles, was it an issue with gripping the ball or what do you think led to those?

BRYCE YOUNG: None of that. Just have to do a better job with ball security. Can't put the ball on the floor like that. That's just on me.

Q. This is the most sacks you've had in a game this season. How much of that was Micah and how much of that was maybe protection and you? What went wrong there?

BRYCE YOUNG: Credit to them. That's a really good unit over there. Obviously really good players. So you know, they deserve their credit. But stuff I can do better as well, just getting the ball out quicker. Protection. Side protections, whatever it may be. It's not just the -- not just the line. And also when we are in those situations, when pass rushers know, we've got to pass the ball, it's tough on those guys, again, against a really, really good unit.

So it's all of us and again there's stuff I could have done better. We'll watch the tape and grow from it.

Q. Any looks that the defense gave you out there that you weren't expecting?

BRYCE YOUNG: I mean, they always have a flavor of the week that's elite. But they executed better than we did, is what it comes down to. I've just got to look in the mirror. Can't turn the ball over like that obviously in this league, and that's a hundred percent on me. I've got to be better. I let the team down today. I've got to be better for the team, and we all have stuff to -- we all have that mindset.

So just they executed better than we did. A league like this, that's what it comes down to. Just got to flush it. Again, we'll learn from it tomorrow and we'll focus on next week when the time comes.

Q. Understanding it's not just one player that loses the game but how would you characterize your performance today?

BRYCE YOUNG: Not good enough.

Q. Is there any common denominator, did you think, in your turnovers or the fumbles, if particular?

BRYCE YOUNG: Bad, ball -- just bad, whatever. Just not good plays. Again that's on me. Take full accountability for that.

Grateful for the opportunity next week. Grateful for the league we play where there's an opponent next week. A lot of blessings in my life and us as a team, and it hurts, obviously, where we're at.

But a great opportunity next week. Right now we're in it. We're going to learn from it. But we've got to be able to turn the page and I'll be better next week.

Q. On the 83-yard touchdown, what did you see?

BRYCE YOUNG: Jalen just did a great job of just feeling himself opening, kind of breaking off his route a little bit, going to grass, we're on the same page when it came to that. You know, when you get those opportunities, you've got to be able to take advantage of them.

Q. When you've had streaks like the team has had in the past few weeks when you see what is possible and the ability to bounce back, does it make it easier or easier to see the ability to bounce back from this one?

BRYCE YOUNG: Yeah, I mean, I guess -- yeah, for us, there is no -- there's no lack of confidence, lack of belief in the locker room. We know this wasn't our brand of football. This was not our best day by any stretch or means. It was one day. Again, the game is over. It's fresh. So it doesn't feel great right now.

But that doesn't take away what we can do next week, where we can be, where we're going. So you know, again, we all are super passionate about the game. It's not a good feeling right now. But we know that after we get over watching the film and we start next week and we start going towards the future, there's all the belief in the building.

Q. Does it feel like you guys got a way from the run game? They weren't very good coming in defending the run, or late in the fourth quarter --

BRYCE YOUNG: I trust Coach with the play calling. It wasn't the play calls. We had a lot of opportunities today. I have to do better. I think we all as a unit, we all want to step up as a team and we want to execute better. I look in the mirror first and foremost and I have to do a lot of things better. It definitely wasn't the play calls. We had a lot of good opportunities and situations. It's up to us to execute and make it work and we didn't do a good enough job today.

Q. The 83-yard touchdown pass, can you describe what happened?

BRYCE YOUNG: Jalen did a great job of finding grass and you know, there's a little busted coverage, so for us, you've got to be able to take advantage of those when they do come.
