QB Kyler Murray

Visitors Postgame Press Conference

Carolina Panthers 36, Arizona Cardinals 30

Q. What are the emotions after a game like that?

KYLER MURRAY: Um, we had an opportunity to win the game. We didn't, and that's the most frustrating part, you know, that we showed, obviously, we're a resilient bunch but at the end of the day, we didn't get the job done, so that's -- losing is not fun, you know.

Q. How does being eliminated from the playoffs play into that?

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, I mean, going forward, we have to control what we can control, and that's coming to work every day, playing the game of football, playing the game that we love, and going out there and trying to win.

Q. What would you attribute the first half penalties to?

KYLER MURRAY: Well, the first one, I don't think Marv was offsides, and then after that, you know, PI on Budda. I mean, the ball was out of bounds -- I mean, there's. I don't know. I couldn't tell you.

Q. What happened on the delay of game in overtime?

KYLER MURRAY: Came out of the huddle not lined up in the proper formation, kind of shot ourselves in the foot right there.

Q. How does something like that happen?

KYLER MURRAY: Just we got to communicate better. Little things... little things matter and that came up to bite us in a situation where we needed that time-out and that can't happen.

Q. Kyler, your team starts down (inaudible) you came out flat. How would you describe the first quarter and half collectively?

KYLER MURRAY: I don't think we came out flat. I know the guys, you know, we came out on this trip understanding who we were playing, how they've been playing lately. I don't think we -- we didn't take this team lightly at all, but it's the NFL. You come out and you do that, put yourself behind, we fought back, though, and had a chance to win the game and that's all that matters and we didn't do it, so, that's part of the game. I'm happy that we got back in the game, but, again, like I said, we didn't win the game, so.

Q. Kyler, take us through the interception there in the fourth quarter...

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, trying to make a play, obviously, I didn't get enough on it.

Q. You see Trey there?

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah, Trey and Mike. Mike would have been a touchdown. Trey was, you know, Trey was underneath. Yeah.

Q. Your scramble with 22 seconds left. Did you think you were out of bounds? Because the play took like four or five seconds and then time-out came --

KYLER MURRAY: I think JG was going to call time-out anyways right there, let it roll down and call time out and kick a field goal.

Q. (Inaudible) in overtime. What was the -- (inaudible).

KYLER MURRAY: We had two? Yeah. I got to go watch it but we didn't -- I uh throw it to Marv twice and then the sack, just wasn't going backwards, you know. Yeah, we didn't execute in enough time.

Q. Did they do something to limit Trey a little bit?

KYLER MURRAY: No. I just think we didn't execute.

Q. In overtime, when you guys used your first time-out on that second and ten, what happened on that play --

KYLER MURRAY: Which one?

Q. It was the second play in overtime. You used your first time-out in overtime. You were second and ten.

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah. Yeah, I got to look at it.

Q. So back to the pick. You saw Trey but you wanted to get the touchdown there...

KYLER MURRAY: Yeah.

MODERATOR: Thanks, Kyler.
