Carolina Panthers 27, Miami Dolphins 24
JAYLEN WADDLE: A lot of third and three match. They ran some six to six, threw in some man, so they kind of stayed true to their scheme. They did a really good job of disguising and making all of us kind of think and communicate, so, you know, tip your hat off to the defense and that team.
Q. Did you sense some kind of an adjustment?
JAYLEN WADDLE: Yeah, they made some adjustments, all great defenses and great teams do, so, yeah.
Q. Did they creep up more as the game on and you got...
JAYLEN WADDLE: No, not necessarily. They stayed true to their technique.
Q. What woke up in you guys on that three-play drive and touchdown catch?
JAYLEN WADDLE: I think just a sense of urgency. I think we had the ball two or three times, didn't really move the ball, kind of a sense of urgency knowing that we need to play complementary football and help out our defense and special teams, so to go out there and try to make a play.
Q. Do you think that 46-yard touchdown, do you think okay, this is what we needed to get over the top?
JAYLEN WADDLE: No, man, they got a great team, a great offense so I knew the game wasn't over until the game's over. Yeah, man.
Q. I know you don't want to bash the other side of the ball but what's it like on the sidelines when a team is just running down your guys' throat and as offensive players, there's nothing you can do about it but watch?
JAYLEN WADDLE: I kind of like -- I don't know. There ain't really much that I can say or do. I know they're going to figure it out. They got a great scheme, great players on our defense. I know they're going to figure it out. So, yeah. We just try to go out there and play complementary until they can figure it out. It don't help when the offense is kind of getting into a slump because it's putting them bang out there. We just go out there and try to help them out.
Q. Did it almost feel like -- I think Tua said they shrunk the field a little bit and protected the middle so those hits to Darren Waller weren't as successful. Did it feel like you had time to figure it out, figure out, figure out, figure out until all of a sudden it was too late?
JAYLEN WADDLE: I wouldn't necessarily saw that. They made adjustments. They definitely made it harder towards the end and especially in the third quarter with us not moving the ball. I think we had some three-and-outs or short drives and like I said, when our defense tried to figure it out, it don't help when we're not playing and not extending drives.
