Q. Carlos, just how would you assess your outing tonight?

CARLOS RODÓN: Yeah, I mean, definitely a battle. They strung some good at-bats together, but defensively we had some great turns. Cruz picked me up there in the 7th. I think we played a pretty complete ball game tonight. The boys swung it late, and we ran the bases pretty well. Played some good baseball. Got out of there with a win, so looking forward to tomorrow.

Q. You mentioned Cruz helping you out of that. What has he meant to the team this year, and how would you describe his reaction coming off the field?

CARLOS RODÓN: He was pumped up, as he should be. I was too. He has kind of been our fireman. We use him in those big situations like that. What an outing there for him to keep the game tied and give us a chance. That was huge.

Q. Carlos, just your thoughts on Austin Wells tonight. Had the big hit at the end, but also the job he did behind the plate all night?

CARLOS RODÓN: He managed the game really well, as always. He is really turning into quite the player. And then the big hit in the 8th with a -- what a great at-bat. Tough at-bat pulling tough pitches and gets out and gets in front on the changeup and rides it out.

And then Jazz, the score from first there, it's -- I mean, you saw the speed and the athleticism he brings. Another great play there in the 7th for Jazz. Saved a run. So he had a big part in tonight's game as well.

Q. Obviously that's a must-win for you guys, but as the game is unfolding and they start using their bullpen so early and Whitlock goes 48 pitches, did you feel it was as much of a must-win game for them as it was for you guys?

CARLOS RODÓN: I feel like any game is a must-win game when you get to the playoffs. They have a good bullpen, they try to run something there. They threw the ball well and kept the game close. I am sure you will see a bunch of open bullpen arms possibly used tomorrow as well.

Every game is a must-win game. Obviously, tomorrow is a must-win game for both of us.

Q. Can you walk us through the interaction you had with Boone in the sixth when he came out? He was looking to take you out? Did you kind of have to argue your way to stay in, or was he -- did you get a sense he was going to leave you in in that spot?

CARLOS RODÓN: Playing under, you know, Boone for three years now, I get a sense of the demeanor when he walks out. At times, you know, he makes a decision early, he points, but when I saw he crossed the line and didn't put his arm up, I knew I had a chance at a rebuttal.

So I hit him straight with it. I was like, all right, here's my shot. I got to be pretty up front with it. So I said, I am staying in.

It worked out, obviously, the big double play there. It was a great turn. You know, Jazz gets it out quick and Volpe with a strong throw. So it was good.

Q. Just with Cam going tomorrow night, how would you describe your confidence level with the rookie taking the ball for the Yankees tomorrow?

CARLOS RODÓN: Yeah, I mean, everybody knows the kind of stuff that Cam has. You know, he's equipped well with a pretty impressive arsenal. I am excited to see him go to work. I am excited to see how, you know, the energy and the crowd and how he interacts with that. It's going to be really good for him. He needs to experience this. I am looking forward to seeing him dominate tomorrow.
