Q. Closing 66, your best putting round of the week. Did you find something?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: I just tried to work on my putting last night. Just roll a little bit better. I think with it being dry, some of the greens were probably a little bumpier than years past. They are faster but bumpier. I wasn't rolling it very well the first couple days. So kind of caught up to me.
Q. Does that give you some encouragement going into next week?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: I think next week will be smoother greens. Usually when it's really lush and raining a lot, it's slow, but it's pretty smooth. So I could be wrong.
Q. Looking ahead to next week, what do you expect it to be like when you return the Claret Jug?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: I think it will be fine. I haven't really had it in my possession to be completely honest. It will probably be cool to see it for the five-minute car ride in, and I'll hand it off.
Q. Looking back on this year, what's it like being the Champion Golfer of the Year? Anything stand out?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: It's nice, whenever you win a big title, they definitely remind you when they announce your name on the tee and it's a friendly reminder, and then it goes away so you have to earn it again.
