Quick Quotes

Q. Great play through two rounds only dropping one shot, what's been the strength of your game so far?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: Yeah, my irons have been really good this week. I think I've only missed a handful of greens in total for the two rounds, and that obviously alleviates a lot of pressure.

I still I feel like I haven't driven it the best but I keep giving myself looks and I frankly just haven't made too many putts either. But yeah, it's been really solid tee-to-green.

Q. You won a huge event in Abu Dhabi earlier this year. To have a chance to win the Flagship Event, what would that mean to you tomorrow?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: That would be amazing. I played here in 2019 shortly after I turned pro and I was kind of a little wowed about the experience, as I've watched a lot of European Tour events. But it was a little bit different showing up here the first time with so many people and just seeing the golf course for the first time after seeing it a little bit on TV.

It was a cool experience that first time and didn't play as well as I would have liked last year, but I got a chance to do something tomorrow. So that would be awesome.

Q. You've matured a lot as a player but it's a different test this year because it's so soft. How did you have to change your game plan?

VIKTOR HOVLAND: It really didn't too much different. I guess the only thing is that we are getting a lot more drivers off the tee. I told my caddie in the practise rounds, just so used to hitting irons and 3-woods off almost every single hole because the ball was running but now playing so soft, you're hitting a lot more clubs into the green. So that's a little bit different but I think that kind of plays into my hands.
