Quick Quotes

Q. Happy with what you've been able to produce?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, very. Yesterday was a really, really great round of golf, and today after not getting off to a fast start, the round turned around very quickly on 4 and 5 and just played really well. Any time I was in trouble I managed to hit a really good shot out of trouble and for the most part the rest was really solid and gave myself a lot of chances. It's not an easy golf course at all. Some great round, 5-under on a Saturday.

Q. What's going to be the key to finding this level of consistency week-after-week to keep putting yourself in positions to go into Sunday and be contending?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Well, I'm obviously doing a lot of the right things. I think the work that I've done physically off the course and on my swing as well has been great.

It not really shown this week but I've putted well this year. I've putted really solid for the most part and just overall, I've shot a lot of consistent scores and keep finding myself up on the right side of leaderboard. Overall consistency and doing the right things and feeling very positive about that and then feeling comfortable at the top end of the leaderboard. Really want to keep it going. Worked hard early this week and felt good on the golf course. Another good day and see what happens.

Q. How much are you enjoying being out there with these crowds?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, they are amazing. Very, very cool. They have been great and pretty rowdy the last two days, but it's been great. I love playing golf in front of those crowds. They are a big louder, and they have been great. I'm always lucky for the most part wherever I go and this week is no different. They have been right there behind me all week and biased for the most part which I'll take.

If I can play good golf tomorrow coming down the stretch looking really good, that will be great and it will be a really good after to play in front of.

Q. This time yesterday, we spoke about just how well you're playing tee-to-green, and it's the same story today. Do you come off there frustrated that you left a couple out there or pleased with the day's work?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, I actually think the times where I hit it in some tricky spots today, I think through the middle part of that round, I didn't hit it particularly great off the tee and I always found a way of getting it back out either on the green or around the green, so there was that. I had a lot of chances, but looking at the positives, it was another great round of golf. There's a lot of things to be positive about.

I did have a lesson off Rory on Monday out of the rough because I'm pretty used to it --

Q. You're not in it very often.

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: More than I'd like. I spoke to him about it and he gave me a couple of tips to try and practice this week. A couple times today, I had a chance to try it and it came off, so thanks, Rory.

Q. You're hugely popular everywhere you go but you must feel as if the crowd are waiting for you here particularly?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, they have been great. It's a lot -- it is so much fun playing in front of a crowd like this, and you're getting rooted for all the way around. I'd love tomorrow to play well down the stretch and give them something to cheer about. It's such a cool atmosphere to play in. I look forward to that and keeping the crowd on myself.

It's a huge event and something that everybody on The European Tour aims for in their career, and playing tomorrow with a chance and hopefully to be able to do it would really be great. I really look forward to it.
