Quick Quotes

Q. What does this mean to you?

ALEX NOREN: It's so many emotions right now, it's like the playoff, like felt a little bit easier than maybe coming down the 72nd hole, a little bit better conditions. I thought I hit that one in the water. But I had a great lie so tried to put it up here on the right side of the green and to the fortunate with a good break. The chip was sitting quite nicely. I saw his ball didn't catch as nice of a break maybe. It makes a difference.

Q. Just briefly, were you going for the green on 18?

ALEX NOREN: I was laying up a bit.

Q. Radar was saying we didn't think you could reach into the breeze.

ALEX NOREN: I had such a good lie but I think the water kind of got it close maybe. And then trying to hit it up here, but obviously it was tougher than we thought.

Q. You and Adrian matched each other shot-for-shot through that back nine and in the playoff, as well. What was going through your mind? How are you processing, what do I need to do to win this? Take a risk? Wait for a mistake? What?

ALEX NOREN: I hit my iron shots way better the first three days, and today, I was kind of struggling a little bit with the hit. I hit it good off the tee but my iron shots just felt a little tough. My putting, chipping, got some long putts going in. You know, you've just got to fight. Sometimes it comes too easy and sometimes you've just got to fight and today it felt like a fight. I think he probably outplayed me tee-to-green. But that's how it goes.

Q. You won for the first time in seven years three weeks ago at the British Masters at The Belfry and you've now done it again. What's going on? How has this come about?

ALEX NOREN: I like coming back to Europe and I like splitting time. It feels great to see all my friends here. My caddie and coaches have gone a great job and just trusted the process and not veered away from it, which I usually do otherwise. Yeah, it pays off.

Q. You're off to the Ryder Cup as a vice captain, in this form, we'd like you to be playing. If someone gets injured or sick, they are allowed to substitute somebody in before the Opening Ceremony. Will you take your clubs?

ALEX NOREN: I'll take my clubs this time but take it home to Florida. I think the other guys have played better than me throughout the year. I've had a great result now the last month but it came a little bit too late. I think the guys on the team is going to be fantastic. I'm really looking forward to that match more than, I don't know, in a long time, yeah.

Q. A word for BMW, sponsor of the tournament.

ALEX NOREN: I love it. This tournament is unbelievable. I told all the guys in the States to come over here. I think it's one of the best tournaments in the whole world. It just get better every year. I'm so grateful we have these kind of tournaments.
