Q. Trying conditions?
ERNIE ELS: Yeah, it was atrocious. Beautiful now, but very trying conditions.
I thought I played as good as I could. I left quite a few putts out there. If I putted like yesterday, it could have been a very good score, but I can't complain. I had four rounds in the 60s and I had a very enjoyable week up here at Gleneagles.
Q. How key was patience out there today?
ERNIE ELS: Very, very key. It was very trying, the tough holes, where I felt the rain was heaving down, 6, 7, 8, 9; I three-putted on 6.
But as you say, I tried to keep my patience. If I could have made some on the back nine, it could have been different but I'm fine.
Q. You mentioned the putting, if a few more had dropped, could it have been a different story?
ERNIE ELS: Totally. The first day and today. The first day I shot 66 but I left quite a few out there. Then I putted brilliantly yesterday. I made a lot of putts. Didn't play very well.
Then today, played good again. I feel like I'm hitting good putts, so that's a positive. But they need to start dropping. But I've worked on my putting. Made some technical changes, and I feel it's much better.
Q. Overall, a positive week nevertheless?
ERNIE ELS: Brilliant week. Always great to play in Scotland. People were great. Gleneagles was great. Course was in brilliant condition. Just a pity about the weather today but it's still a wonderful championship.
