Q. Opening round of 5-under par 66, easily the best from your section of the draw. Tell us from your point of view.
MIGUEL ANGEL JIMÉNEZ: Well, I played very solid, all parts of the game. Very good keys to the game, shots to the green and putting also, very nice. I played 6-under par. The last finished with a birdie on the last hole, hit beautiful drive and 7-iron second shot. The par 3, the only bad shot I hit is on No. 14, my second shot with a 4-iron. I was rushing myself probably there, and I just pull it on the left and didn't make up-and-down there. That's the only -- really the only bad thing.
So I would say on hole No. 12, the par 3, hit in the bunker on the left, I hit a little too much draw, beautiful sand trap and made three metres putt, 3 1/2 metres' putt for par, the rest is very good.
My driver, hit it solid, if you hit in solid, you can reach in two, and I used my driver. Reach in the bunker and make a solid five there, but the rest of the game is solid, playing very well and I'm happy.
Q. You're past champion of this event, three other top five finishes, what is it about the British Senior Open that brings out the best new?
MIGUEL ANGEL JIMÉNEZ: It's a major. It's my favourite major and playing in these conditions on this golf course, beautiful conditions.
