Q. One over par through 10, losing ground on a runaway leader. How pleased with 33 home for 69?
PAUL BROADHURST: It's a strange game, this. Just plot it around, really. Just keep making pars and not doing anything special, really. And then hit two good shots into 12 and rolled the putt in for eagle.
But I had a really good run then. Birdied 14. Hit it close at 15 and then drained that 30-footer on 16 for a bonus two there.
You know, I was going along nicely and then, I don't know, I keep trying to putt off the fringe -- I hit it through the back on 10 and tried to putt it up there, but I don't know, looking at the hole, whatever it is, I just couldn't seem to get a good strike on it and comes up short all the time. Have to look at that.
Q. You have such a brilliant short game around the greens. They were surprised you didn't chip.
PAUL BROADHURST: I haven't chipped that much this week. You know, you just play the shot that you see, really, what you're presented.
Perhaps the commentators are right, is it Coltart? I guess it is, is it Coltart?
Q. 5-over par for the front nine; 33 home on the back. Can you explain that?
PAUL BROADHURST: It just plays easier, the back nine. Suits my eye a little bit. The par 5s, I can just short of shape a little bit right-to-left coming in, and going out, it's all left-to-right, really. So that's tricky.
Lose a few shots out to the right but the front nine wasn't so difficult today. The wind is slightly in a different quarter, so 6 is not -- although it's blowing hard off the left, it's not into off the left. So it makes 7 a little easier, and 8 and 9 are straight downwind. I played 9, hit driver, 8-iron and made three.
Some are playing a lot easier, and one or two are playing a little harder.
Q. How much are you looking forward to tomorrow, a chance to win a second Senior Open at Carnoustie?
PAUL BROADHURST: Yeah, I'm three behind -- and around here, three shots is nothing. You don't know what the leaders are going to do tomorrow.
Just keep it steady if I can, keep it in play. Keep out of this rough. Make a few putts and you never know.
