Q. Six shots you took off the course today. How do you summarize your third round 64 today?
CLARK DENNIS: I played very well. I got off to kind of a shaky start. I wasn't hitting it solid on the first couple holes. I scraped in a birdie on 1 and got a really nice up-and-down on 2 out of the bunker. Then kind of started coming together. I hit it close on 3. Hit nice shot in there on 4 and made a birdie.
My only hiccup was I had kind of a nasty iron shot on and 8 hit it in the right bunker and didn't get up-and-down. Other than that it was pretty much a perfect round of golf. I played very well.
Q. Saturday at a major, I imagine as you are making up the shots and gaining momentum, you might have casted an eye on the leaderboard to see how things were panning out?
CLARK DENNIS: It's early. They are going to make some birdies out there. I am not going to be that close to the lead going into tomorrow. Maybe I will. Depends on the English weather. I'm in good position now. If I can go out and have another really good round tomorrow, at least gives me a chance.
Q. Do you take any confidence from the last time the Senior Open was here in 2021 at Sunningdale you finished just a hair outside the top 10 with Jim Furyk?
CLARK DENNIS: I actually barely made the cut that week. I missed the putt on 18. I thought I missed the cut. Then had a really good weekend. Shot 66, 67 or something. I love this golf course. It's one of the best I've ever played. It's just so fun to play. I wanted to make the cut this week just so I can play it Tour times. It is really amazing.
Q. How will you spend the afternoon? Will you be watching what happens Colonial?
CLARK DENNIS: My son caddies on the PGA TOUR for Sam Stevens. I think I'm going to be watching that tournament and see if they can maybe get a win this week at the 3M.
Q. He's caddied for you as well, can't he?
CLARK DENNIS: Yeah, he's caddied a lot. He's a very good caddie. He and Sam were childhoods friends. They have had a good run, top 40 in the FedExCup and shot 9-under on the first day. They have a late tee time today, so I'm going to be watching closely.
Q. Hopefully father and son get some success this weekend.
CLARK DENNIS: That would be very nice.
