Quick Quotes

Q. Last year you defeated three-time champion here at the Open de España but this time you're coming back as a champion as well. Is it different this year for you?

ANGEL HIDALGO: Well, definitely it's different because I'm here Tuesday and normally I'm practising.

I think when we tee off on Thursday is, every player is exactly the same. Don't care if you won last year or ten years ago. But yeah, I can't wait to arrive to the tee and see the atmosphere, and it will be pretty good.

Yeah, just with a lot of emotions to be here again. Step on the course again, and remember things happened last year but yeah, at the same time, I just want to arrive on Thursday and tee off.

Q. I know you're not on the course yet but is the experience different for you?

ANGEL HIDALGO: Well, at the moment, no, because I arrived yesterday. I didn't feel that emotion, probably, when the tournament starts and see the spectators because obviously last year there was a lot of people following me the first few rounds but not as I suspect this Thursday.

We'll see. We'll see how it feels, how my nerves are, and I will try to control as best as I can. I will try to enjoy at the same time. I think -- no, I'm sure, try to return the trophy for the first time once, and especially in your home country will be special. Just try to enjoy the week and see what we can do.

Q. Do you think you can do anything differently this year knowing the experience of how last year went? Do you think you'll do something different or keep it the same?

ANGEL HIDALGO: No, keep the same. Just try to play my best golf, and if I play my best golf, I know I can win this tournament.

So, yeah, just try to play my best golf and have a good connection with my caddie. Try to attack when we think we can attack, and yeah, just try to hole the putts.

Q. And lastly, about the course, what can you tell us? Does anything stand out for you?

ANGEL HIDALGO: Well, I don't know, I didn't practice yet the course but obviously this course, you need to go good from the tee. If you hit good from the tee, as Jon said a few minutes ago, it's a course you will hit really short clubs.

So if you hit and put the ball in the fairway, you will have a lot of chances for birdie. Yeah, be consistent with the driver and hole the putts like on every course.
