Q. (On his round today)
JON RAHM: Yes, it has been a great day. I didn't need anything spectacular like the two shots I holed out yesterday. It has been a very tidy day, in which I played very well, and the only mistake was the three putts on the 8th and the tee shot on the 18th, but it is such a complicated hole that anyone can have a bad swing. I am very happy with how I played and these are the rounds that are very enjoyable and let's see if I can continue like this for the rest of the week.
Q. (On Xander Schauffele’s play)
JON RAHM: What Xander has done this year weighs much more than the medal from three years ago and I didn't tell him about it because I don't want to remind him of all the good things he has achieved (laughs). The subject hasn't come up as everyone is worried about their own thing.
Q. (On heading into the third round)
JON RAHM: I have put myself in a very good position and let's see if I can continue playing well from tee to green, which is key on this course, with the order and discipline that I have had and that has given me good results.”
Q. (On the putt on 18)
JON RAHM: The putt on 18 was a relief, because I had hit all the fairways and greens and since it is not the easiest hole, I played to the safest side and with the second shot I simply went for it and it ended up in the bunker. You don't want to end up with a bogey but it was a celebration of relief and knowing that I played very good putts from 13 onwards, many with good lines and I made several and seeing that on 18 the putt went well down the center gave me a lot of relief.
