Quick Quotes

Q. What are your thoughts on representing Switzerland and playing in the Olympics for the first time in your career?

MORGANE METRAUX: Yeah, it's really cool. I qualified to go to Tokyo but unfortunately I had to turn down because of my chances of getting my LPGA card on Symetra at the time. I was really happy that I was able to qualify again and actually be here this time. I was a bit bummed I missed it last time.

I'm really excited. We don't play for our country very much. I think in professional golf the only really like patriotic thing there is the Solheim Cup, which I have not been a part of yet. It's really cool to be able to have that opportunity.

Q. What are why you most looking forward to with the Olympic women's golf tournament?

MORGANE METRAUX: I think just the whole experience of it all. Like discovering the Village, seeing all the athletes. It's so different from a normal tournament. Obviously when we are at the course it's more similar but everything around it is a really cool experience. I'm just going to try and enjoy it as much as I can.

Q. What are thoughts of being in Paris for the Olympic Games and experiencing the other activities that are going around?

MORGANE METRAUX: Yeah, unfortunately I didn't have much time to do all the other stuff because of the tournaments and all the other golf stuff going on. Our schedule doesn't just revolve around the Olympics. Unfortunately I didn't have time to do as much as I wanted to but it's just really cool to be a part of and see what I can see.

Q. We were talking yesterday, but did you go to the Village?

MORGANE METRAUX: I slept there for two nights, yeah.

Q. What's it like in the Village in Paris?

MORGANE METRAUX: I didn't do any other one; so it's the only one I know. It's very, very cool. It's cool to be amongst all the other athletes and just walk around and see them just be themselves and not in their sports and just do their own thing and see everybody in their country shirts does stuff. Like it's just a really, really cool atmosphere.

Q. And what is the most fun activity that may be, I know you said you haven't had a lot of time to do anything else, but if you were to see something, or have you been watching something since you've been here that makes it feel real that you're at the Olympics?

MORGANE METRAUX: I think more than something, I think it's more whenever you're seeing anybody with your team's clothes, they go and say hello and say good luck. It's more this like team building aspect where everybody is supporting you within your country. I think that's a really, really cool thing.

Q. Has playing in the Olympics been a goal of yours?

MORGANE METRAUX: Definitely. Well, golf has only been in the Olympics since 2016. Before that it obviously wasn't. But since it became a think, I think it's grown every year a bit more. I feel like the first time, like a lot of players turned it down for so many reasons. It wasn't a main attraction for golf. I think it's becoming more and more. I think the more forward we go with it, the more of a bigger opportunity and goal it will be. So yes, it's definitely a big thing for me.
