Quick Quotes

Q. Let's just start from the beginning this morning, first tee shot, what was it like for you emotionally?

PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, I got lucky to be able to hit the first tee shot at the Olympics in my home country. It was definitely a lot of emotion, and as you can see on the scorecard, I kind of left a lot of energy for the rest of the round.

Q. What were your expectations this morning?

PERRINE DELACOUR: Well, not crying on the first tee, that was hard. I mean, I'm just trying to do my best. I knew it was going to be a lot of emotion. But it was hard for sure when you start hearing La Marseillaise on the first tee. It was hard to stay patient and stay in the present because you really realise you're playing from France and in front of your crowd.

Q. And did the course play differently than you expected beforehand?

PERRINE DELACOUR: It's definitely playing harder. As you can see my scorecard, it was harder.

But yeah, I don't think it's playing any different. It's just that it's just a tough course and that if you miss a couple shots, you don't get rewarded. It's hard to keep doing down, and at some point, you leave a lot of energy.

Q. I think that's what happened on 18, as well, right?

PERRINE DELACOUR: Yeah, unfortunately the wind kind of like switched all around 18, and my second shot went in the water, and then we're trying to get a good yardage with my caddie.

It was a good yardage and I hit a good shot and went in the water over the green and from there, we're just trying the best.
