Q. You hit three 400-yard drives, averaged 370. Is that kind of what you expected?
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, 370 is about right. I was flying it that far on the driving range. I'm like, okay, I think that's going to be my average, and if the fairways get firm, it could be more. It could be a lot more.
Q. I've seen you swing out of your shoes many times on the range. You swung out of your shoes on No. 1.
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: I did on No. 1. I had to, to get it up there. It was playing 390, and I'm like, I might as well get it up in the bunkers and have a somewhat easy bunker shot, and fortunately I did that and got it up next to the hole. It almost went up by the hole for a somewhat easy eagle putt and then lucky enough to make a two-putt birdie. I misread the first putt. But it was a great birdie.
Q. Was that as hard as you've swung a driver in competition?
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Maybe. What was the ball speed?
Q. I didn't see it.
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, so it must have been 96, 97 there. I was pumped.
