Q. Bryson, solid round today. I know you told me you played a bit of YouTube golf, but really since the Ryder Cup not a competitive round. How would you assess your opening round of 2026?
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, it was great. I hit a perfect drive off the first and made double on the second, so great start to the year.
It was fine. I played good coming in, despite the double, and a couple missed opportunities on the par-5s and one on 18, or it could have been an 8-, 9-under round. Pretty pleased with how everything went. Got to work on my putting a little bit. Left a few short out there. Besides that, playing good golf and excited for the year.
Q. I know part of your game last year that was a little frustrating for you was your wedge play. Seemed like you turned things around today. What's changed?
BRYSON DeCHAMBEAU: Yeah, I got a little work with a good friend of mine that helped, and I just did some stuff with my swing that helped me be more comfortable with launching it lower. Really it was a shaft lean, but learning how to do it and whatnot has helped me get the ball a lot lower launch and control my spin a lot better. As you saw out there, it was a little bit better wedging. I don't have to tell myself I'm terrible at wedging all the time hopefully.
