Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome Abraham Ancer from Torque GC. Abraham, well-played today, 7-under par round of 65. You're currently tied fourth heading into the final round at LIV Golf Riyadh. Can you take us through your round this evening?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, definitely a very solid round. Definitely very happy with the ball-striking, the way I rolled it, and off the tee was very nice, so it felt like it was very similar to yesterday's round. I just made more putts today.

It can definitely be tricky, obviously, under the lights to get the proper read on these greens, and I felt like I did that really well today and hit the proper shots.

But it was fun. It was fun out there. I enjoyed it. Played with Ben; I haven't seen him in a while, and it was quite nice for both of us to have a good round. We quite enjoyed it out there. It was fun.

Q. During the off-season you made the switch over to Torque GC. You are leading this week as a team at 46-under par, by two. What would the win mean for you as part of a team and also individually, as well?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, that would be really cool. Obviously that would be the dream start. The vibes are phenomenal. I'm really good friends with all of them, not only the players but also the team behind them. I've known them for a long time.

That would be really cool. I think we all have very aligned goals for this season and for the future, so that makes it fun.

To be able to have a team like that is absolutely phenomenal.

Q. If this had been the previous four years, you would have had a T4 finish, but now you've got a chance to go out and win the tournament since we've moved to 72 holes. What are your thoughts on that? Obviously it's worked out for you this week.

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, I mean, I like both. I don't really mind. I feel like 54 holes was good enough to figure out who's playing the best golf. You just feel like it's a little bit more of a sprint, have a little bit less time for you to make mistakes and come back from them.

But then playing 72 holes, you feel like if you're a steady player, that would maybe help you rise to the top of the leaderboard.

I don't really dwell on that. I feel like this is my job, and I like playing golf. If I'm playing 54 or I'm playing 72, I'm cool with it; it's fine.

Q. Can you walk us through the eagle putt? How long was that?

ABRAHAM ANCER: What would that be in feet? Maybe 50 feet? I don't know, I could be totally off, but that would be my guess, in feet.

It's cool; once you have a long putt on these greens, you're probably going to have at least two breaks or maybe three breaks because there's a lot of slopes on them. It's one of them that it was kind of like in a valley; it's going to take a little bit of one and then take a little bit of the other. I spoke with Ramon, my caddie, about the break, and it's one of those that you're not really trying to make. Obviously it would be a great bonus, but just make a really nice lag putt for you to make an easy birdie.

But lined it up perfect, and it rolled really nice, and it went down in the middle. So that was a nice way to get the day going.

Q. You mentioned playing with Ben; how nice is it him taking over the captaincy there and just having him here, having some of the other new guys that are obviously in contention this week?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, it was fun. Like I said, I haven't seen him in a while. He's a great player. He's fun to be around. I think he's going to be a great leader for the Korean Golf Team. We played together in -- we weren't paired together, but he was at the Presidents Cup, as well, so we were in the same team.

He's a good player. He's solid. He hits it hard. He does everything really well. I don't think he has any weaknesses.

There's a lot of new talent that is phenomenal. We were also paired with Asaji, I think you pronounce it. Beautiful swing. He's kind of little like me in a way, and he hits it pretty far. I was like, wow, that's pretty impressive. It was cool. It was a great day.

Q. Are you expecting a shootout tomorrow?

ABRAHAM ANCER: Yeah, today was crazy. I felt like it was windy. We got a little bit of rain here and there, which is pretty crazy for here, and it was blowing pretty good. I felt like the scores weren't going to be low, and then I got off to a really hot start, and I was like, ooh, I'm going to be way up there, and I'm like, damn, everybody is shooting really low. That was surprising.

I guess it doesn't matter what the weather does; it feels like we need to make a lot of birdies tomorrow.
