Press Conference

THE MODERATOR: Let's welcome to the media center Richard T. Lee. Richard, 2-under par 69 today, currently at 9-under, just one shot back from the lead. A couple days ago you said you felt that you might have just a bit of an advantage given your experience playing this course. On a day like today when the conditions really seemed to be tough, would you say that that advantage maybe really played in your favor?

RICHARD T. LEE: Yeah, I think so. I've played here numerous times in Asian Tour events, and I left a few short putts out there, but then again, I'm happy how I performed today.

Q. Entering the final round, is there anything specific now that you know what position you're in that you plan to do this afternoon or this evening to get yourself prepared for Sunday?

RICHARD T. LEE: Just going to do the same thing as the last three days, keep it low key, have some nice food with my family, and go to bed early.

Q. You're four tournaments into your LIV Golf career. Obviously playing so well at the Promotions event is one thing, got you in here, but what would it mean to post a victory tomorrow against this caliber of field?

RICHARD T. LEE: It's definitely going to change a lot in my life, with my family. Yeah, just playing with these guys in this big league, I think it would be a great honor to win.

Q. What was the biggest adjustment coming into LIV Golf?

RICHARD T. LEE: I think my putting stats got a lot better. Worked on my setup on my putting and my stroke, and I think I've been making a lot more putts, except for today.

Q. There were a lot of missed short putts out there today. What was it about the conditions that were different than the first two days?

RICHARD T. LEE: I think I had a lot of side grain coming at me and it was downhill and I thought it would be a lot quicker than what I saw, and left, I think, three short of the hole, unfortunately.

But finished up with a birdie on 18, so I think the food is going to taste better today.

Q. Richard, you said that you've played this course. How much of knowing the golf course has helped you?

RICHARD T. LEE: I think a lot, actually. There's a lot of pin placements that are tucked in and you've got to place your tee shots in the right angle, and your second shot is going to be a lot easier. I think that kind of has an advantage for me.

The wind, there's a lot of gust out there, and I think just myself and my caddie just have to time it right and hit the shot.

Q. Being in contention with some of the best players on LIV Golf, how does that feel?

RICHARD T. LEE: I definitely feel like I can perform out here, and I think I can win.

Q. You talked about your familiarity with the course, but how much does your familiarity with the region, the grain and grass type -- this week you're sixth around the green, third in approach under 150 yards, which tells me you know how the ball is going to react when it hits the turf. How much does your familiarity with the region and the type of grass help this week?

RICHARD T. LEE: I think most of the golf courses on the Asian Tour we play on this type of grass out here. Some of where the pin placements are, I know if it's into grain and it's going to hit and stop or if it's downgrain, just keep it a little bit shorter, land it a little bit shorter and bounce it up.

I think just playing on this course numerous times, I think I found out how it is, how it works.

Q. You played with Westy and Rahm today. When is the last time you've played with those guys before this week?

RICHARD T. LEE: I think this week is the first time I've ever played with Rahm and Lee Westwood, actually. Man, Rahm hits it good. I mean, he wasn't on form today, but he can hit the ball.

Q. Obviously they're both major champions; is it something you kind of embraced to maybe test your game against these kind of guys?

RICHARD T. LEE: Oh, yeah, definitely. When I was younger I always dreamed of playing with Tiger, Anthony Kim and Jon Rahm and Bryson. For me being here, it's just an honor, and I'm just trying to play my best golf out here.
