Q. The fans were everywhere. What was the atmosphere like?
MARC LEISHMAN: It was awesome. The atmosphere is always really good here in Miami, and it was extra good today. That leaderboard was a very good leaderboard. There was a lot of good golf for the fans to watch. Just really happy I came out on top.
Q. When you were putting on 18, you knew where Sergio was at that time?
MARC LEISHMAN: I knew he'd birdied 17. I always watch the leaderboards. I saw that. I'm like, wow, I need to birdie this. I knew Charl had one to play, so that was a birdie hole today. Yeah, it's good when you know what you have to do.
Q. How did you play with the wind -- it's gusty and sometimes you backed off. Was there a time where you just say, I don't care what the wind is going to do, and you just hit the shot?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, I think it might change the shot a little bit, but sometimes you just have to hit the shot. Hitting the middle of the club face with the wind doesn't affect it too much, but you just have to hope you hit the middle of the club face and leave it in the hands of the elements, I guess.
Q. You mentioned about having a coach and a performance coach. One thing about LIV that's good is for younger players they cannot afford to have all these different staff that you can have on a team?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, I think it's very good for everyone, I think not just up-and-coming players. I think being able to prepare to play events and then have a couple of weeks off that everyone has got off, you don't feel like you're losing anything and you can prepare for the next event in those two weeks you have off and go again and assess and then prepare again. It's a pretty good formula for playing good golf. Very thankful that I'm out here.
Q. How much of an impact do you think that training camp had on the team this week?
MARC LEISHMAN: I think it was just knocking the rust off. I'd probably had three weeks where I hadn't touched a club before that, so I think it was just making sure that when we went to Saudi, we weren't knocking the rust off there because it's so competitive. Only being 14 events, you have to be on your game straight away. I think it was good. It allowed me to get in Tuesday night instead of probably Tuesday morning --
Q. This week?
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah. I knew the greens already. We've played here a lot. But just everything was fresh in our minds. And especially with Cam just having the baby, he got in Wednesday morning. I think being fresh on this golf course this afternoon was probably more important than the actual preparation, just having the energy, because it wears you out playing in these conditions.
Q. This is your first win since turning 40 --
MARC LEISHMAN: Oh, yeah.
Q. When you get to 40, obviously the odds are that the chances just aren't there --
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah.
Q. Talk about getting the job done with this quality of field. You've knocked on the door before --
MARC LEISHMAN: Of course you doubt yourself, especially after a week like I had in Singapore. I played terribly. I've played well in a lot of LIV events. I've had a chances to win, haven't won. You wonder if you're going to win again.
It's been the greatest. I've been so happy. I've been the happiest person out here. I've loved every minute of it, but I've probably just missed -- everyone loves winning. It's very hard to win out here with the great fields every single week.
Yeah, so I doubted myself, but that just made it all just so much sweeter today, to be able to win and hold up another trophy and then the team winning, as well, is awesome.
Q. What was it like to stand on the practice green watching the TV watching Sergio come in? What was that process like?
MARC LEISHMAN: It was good. We didn't actually know if it had gone in the water or not and then we saw it in the water and we knew. That's when I saw it. Obviously you don't want to wish anything bad upon anyone, but when I did see that ball that was in the water, I knew it was probably a done deal. Yeah, pretty pleasing.
Q. The fact that you guys came into this together, you and Cam, you're such good friends, the whole team is such good friends, it makes it more than just an individual victory, really. The team win aside, it's like you get to celebrate --
MARC LEISHMAN: Yeah, we've both won now individually.
Q. It's not a feeling that a lot of guys get.
MARC LEISHMAN: No, it was pretty, when we did come over, we were -- he was going, I'm not going unless you're going, and I'm going, I'm not going unless you're going. That was a fun little time when we were talking about that. But yeah, it's pretty cool to just -- it's cool to win, and I think -- not that I needed any confirmation that it was the right decision because it's been the most fun few years of my life and the happiest I've ever been, but winning now is just a pretty good way to have a -- yeah, it's very cool. I don't really have the words for it, to be honest.
