Q. Phil, fantastic round, 3-under in very tough conditions, firm greens. How would you assess today's play?
PHIL MICKELSON: I played well. I had a nice little run there. I had a stretch of four birdies in a row, and I was playing really solid. I let a little go there, the three-putt on 17 and 18. I'm not really pleased with the finish. I need to be able to finish these rounds a little bit better.
But I played well, hit a lot of good shots, and I really enjoy the golf course. I'm looking forward to tomorrow's round.
Q. I heard some great chat with your caddie John, giving you some good cues. How important was that today with the blustery conditions?
PHIL MICKELSON: Yeah, he's phenomenal. He is one of the best caddies I've ever seen. I really enjoy working with him. He just knows what to say at the right time. His nickname, "Greens Book Johnny," because he reads the greens so well. He pulls clubs, he does it all. He's just a great guy to have on your side.
Q. HyFlyers, there are a few players in your team that need a strong finish. What sort of words have you given them into this weekend?
PHIL MICKELSON: Well, we're trying to have them play free and not worry about results. Playing tight and swinging tight, it's like, look, if you want to play your best, you've got to swing without any type of guidance, without any type of control. Swing free, and let's see if we can get some of our best golf out.
